I went up to 10th level or something, where there started to be several enemies of two kinds in each level. I made a bow just before dying, up to there I only used an axe and potions. I just checked the recipes, maybe I would have managed to make a sword or spear now that I thought about trying the hold on something else to make a bow, not certain.

The game works pretty well, movement feels good, combat is quite lethal, you'd better not run into two enemies at once without a potion of each kind, I like that. The game overall looks good, especially the inventory and inventory items. I like the light depending on sanity.

Thick walls which don't take a tile are a bit unusual, I think in general either they're super thin or take a tile, but past the first few second confusion I don't think it bothered me in the end. Too bad there's no winning state, I like a winning state ;) .

The game is cool, thanks for sharing.

Hi, thank you so much for playing the game and for the feedback,

We had a boss fight but ended up removing it last minute because it wasn't working properly.

I like this game very much. It might even be the one I think is the scariest one to play. I'm not that easily scared but this got me into a "watch out" mode where I tried to go easy. I ended up getting to level 4 I think, where one mob killed me. I regenerated health with a potion and after that one or two hits I was dead. Did not realize what was happening. Controls could be a bit smoother but was ok. Could be feedback on what the difference between the weapons are they look the same, but I imagined the axe was best. Anyway I had a really fun experience.

Thank for the game!

Decent core gameplay loop. Combat feels a little stiff but is entirely serviceable, and the crafting mechanic is decent - I think even if you just add more recipes and a reminder of the button it will feel much better. The art is decent and the ambient audio builds atmosphere quite well.

Thank you so much for the feedback, we will take your comment in consideration for sure if we're gonna update the game

This is very cool. The chromatic aberration and brightness are a bit high, but the overall look is nice. Movement is snappy, though combat is a little slow. Your weapons animate, which is more than a lot of games in this jam. Crafting is a little uninspired, almost like it was something to check off a list. I dig the roguelike pro-gen dungeon, but it didn't really feel like I was going anywhere - just endlessly searching for exits (I guess that's the point of an infinite dungeon). Does your game have a win state? I think that might be required. Nice work.

Developer

Hi, thank you for playing the game,

we had a win state but ended up removing it moments before the end of the jam cause it wasn't functioning correctly yet, with a bunch of other stuff;

Probably we're gonna update this game a bit in the future, at least to make it a little bit more intuitive and smooth, and also by adding a boss battle

I played it.

Not as straightforward as I would have liked.

But good job shipping something!

Developer

Thank you for playing it! We tried

Hopefully we're gonna update it in the future, at least to have a smoother and more intuitive gameplay

I had my problems with the controls first, too. Like how is the crafting supposed to work? Okay, back to the page, read a bit and, yeah it works. So kudos for the nice idea to add crafting into the mix. The graphics are nice, maybe a bit overly bright, when near a wall. Some sound effects in the inventory and hit feedback would not hurt either. Sollid attempt there!

Developer

yeah, a minecraft-style crafting system would probably be more intuitive, thanks for the feedback!

This is a very fine premise that could be really good with some polish. I liked the gathering and crafting stuff. After reading the controls, I managed to craft myself an axe without reading the recipes, so that was pretty cool. Explored a while in the dungeon until the further levels when I got killed before I could even realize what was attacking me and before I could chug some potions, haha. Perhaps look at monster damage a bit or add some armor items.

The game could use some in-game hints, or even just the control scheme when you open the inventory, so you know what to look out for. I didn't understand if chests should contain something or not, I just whacked them all haha.

The atmosphere and music were very good and so was the movement. You have a solid base that could be expanded on.

Developer

thanks for the feedback! honestly the kill thing could also be because monsters actually do a turn when you rotate
basically it was a quick dirty fix to getting softlocked when a monster pushes you into a corner so that you can actually die
i think armor is a nice idea

Very cool idea ... survival/crafting dungeon crawler! I liked the atmosphere a lot.

Feedback wise, in case you plan to develop it further, I think it could have benefitted from a little more clear controls/instructions for crafting, as I had to come here to figure it out.

we though about minecraft-style crafting for a more intuitive approach but didnt have time to implement it
thanks for the feedback!

The game and the crafting thing look cool but I did not understand how to make it work. So I was just aimlessly grabbing everything in my way and searching for exits until I got oneshoted by the first monster I saw.

If someone knows how crafting work please tell me I'll go back and try the game again, because the game looks cool!

to craft drag an item over another while pressing Ctrl

You can read crafting recipes in the itch.io page
