I feel like a lot of thought went into this game. Your systems lend to a lot of minute to minute player strategy, cooldowns feel just about the right time to use them wisely, and using the enemies as a power resource feels great! Felt like you did a great job hitting both jams themes!

Felt that the tutorial had a little too much flavor text which made it harder to decipher between lore and mechanic at first. And that boss hits like a truck!

Bugs:

Amusingly an arrow sprite got stretched to 3x the size and I was walking around with a giant arrow in my foot

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I am aware of the arrow-in-foot bug but have no idea of how to fix it. I usually go an in-depth tutorial but more or less just ran out of time this go-around. I may add one in after the jam is over.

No problem, and honestly that bug is kind of amusing and as far as I can tell doesn't hurt the gameplay in anyway.

its really good and fun, and i loved the music

Developer

Thanks! I enjoyed the way you used the time mechanic in your game, super creative and super fun!

I'm amazed by how polished every single aspect of your game was—I feel like your experience really shows. (I made my first ever submission to the bullet hell jam, so I'd love to get your thoughts on it.) I especially like the way the arrows stick in you as you get hit.

The only thing odd I found was that sometimes enemies could get themselves stuck in walls (attached a pic), which was a problem if they went far enough in that I could no longer hit them.

The nice variety of enemies stopped the combat from ever getting too repetitive. All The enemies attack patterns all felt very fair and the game gave me a nice power fantasy.

I really like how you locked a small bit of narrative behind the Star system. It seems like such a great way to encourage people to try replaying levels... it worked on me at least :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'll check out your game later today.

I am aware of the enemies getting stuck out of bounds, I am working on a fix and will get it up after the jam ratings finish!

Developer

Got around to playing yours and it was really good! The game is simple yet executed to near perfection!

What was that saying about bringing a knife to a gun fight? Or is it a sword to a bow fight? :P
This was a lot of fun, pretty creative interpretation of the bullet hell genre, fun gameplay and nice pacing, good work!

Developer

Thanks! I really enjoyed your game too! I liked the card drawing mechanic, it added a lot of strategy and depth.

HOLY god! I rated everything on this 5, cause this is sooooooooo good. the only bug I found was this: when a provoked enemy is across the wall they put their bow on the floor, stop moving and the bow goes back and forth a million times a second

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! It appears you found a path finding bug I'll have to look into fixing, thanks for the heads up!

Fun and i like the pacing, the music is also really good !

the large ennemies seem to have a bit much hp i'd say but other than that it's allright, i enjoyed roaming the dungeon chaining kills , even though i lack skill and didn't get very far XD so i guess in my case i didn't earn a name :(

Anyway, well done :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I greatly enjoyed your game too!

No problem and glad you enjoyed my game too ^^

Fun and challenging!  Had a good time playing this -nice work! :D

Developer

Your game was hilarious, I loved all of the different set pieces and gameplay styles you managed to cram into a week long jam!

I love the use of the theme here.  Especially with the bigger enemies where you need to keep smaller enemies around to keep the chain going. It feels really satisfying. My only issue is i got stuck in a wall once, but was able to quickly get. No biggie. I got the good ending. Nice addition :) Super nice job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I'm going to have to revisit the code for that and patch it after the jam is done. Thanks for the feedback though! I enjoyed your game a lot, the 10 seconds with each weapon was a super nice touch!

Submitted(+1)

Really fast paced. Music and sound effects are awesome. Enough stages to entertain me for quite some time.

Developer

Thanks! I really enjoyed your game, specifically the art and comedy element to it!

Submitted(+1)

The 10 seconds power boost makes you go fast for enemies to kill, which makes the game more dynamic. Also, the way the levels are designed takes advantage of this mechanic, exploiting its potential.

I would suggest polishing the AI of the enemies, as sometimes they will get stuck in the walls.

Nice game!

Thanks for the feedback! I enjoyed your game a lot!

I've joined the cult (it's a cult right?), but at what cost? Fun game. I like the arrows just sticking in the player, nice attention to detail.

I recommend the sword just auto-attacks if you hold the mouse so you don't have to click an ogre 30 times  very fast.

Great game!

Developer (1 edit)

The sword originally was an auto click weapon but I took it out because it was kind of broken. I may add it back in after the jam depending on how things go.

Congrats on finishing! It's not exactly a cult, check out some of my other games from this year to get a better idea of what you're getting into...

I'll check out your game soon! I just need to fix up the description and page some for this game.
