You title screen got me excited I feel this game would have been better as a side scroller (which is what the title screen looks like).
Music was great, sound ? lacking.... and yeah the firing system as mentioned by other was the wrong choice for the type of game chosen.
Hello! ๐
Overall: โจ It seems like you were going for a Vampire Survivor feel in this game. Great job overall!
Fun: ๐ The game was fun, with neat animations for the character, enemies, and fireball. The difficulty wasn't crazy, which made the game more enjoyable. However, the upgrade system didn't work for me, I kept leveling up and trying to click on it, but nothing happened.
Visual: ๐จ The animations were well done and added a lot to the game's appeal. Adding health bars to the enemies when they get hit would improve the experience.
Audio: ๐ถ The music was nice and suited the style of the game well.
Theme: ๐ The theme of consequences didn't seem like it was implemented, and I would not consider this game a bullet hell.
Other feedback: It would be cool if the fireball shot towards the mouse position rather than in front of the player, as it was a bit awkward having to run and turn around to shoot. This is a great start though and I'd love to see what you can do with this after the jam!
Great job! ๐
great job finishing the jam! graphics seemed nice and music was good! the shooting was very hard to aim and overall it was so slow i didn't end up playing for a long time... i seemed to get some upgrades, but the button maybe didn't work as nothing happened? could be a good start for a great game!
the mechanic of shooting in the direction where you look is interesting.. would love to see more enemies, I also couldn't understand what the upgrades do
Very well done, I made it to the fifth wave and got stuck in the textures. The idea of shooting where you look, in my opinion, fits the theme perfectly.
The music is awesome. I really liked the vibe you were going with.
Regarding the gameplay I noticed a few things:
Unless I missed somehing, shooting in only 2 directions was a struggle in a survivor-style game. I wished I could shoot in more directions.
Also, I felt like the collisions of the enemies could be removed. In one attempt I ended up cornered between enemies and a wall and was not able to move. So I stood there and had to wait.
Apart from the things mentioned, I think you did somehting cool and make sure to keep up the good work! :)
