How does your game fit the theme?
After your death you have to get back your stuff from your old house but there's already someone living there.
Death = End, Afterlife = New Beginning and you are moving into your tomb and decorating it.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All the code is made from scratch. Assets are 80-90% from scratch.
Tree's and some rocks are from asset packs which are credited on the Itch.io page wel well as some SFX and music is from a free library with creative commons license.

Very relaxing game with beautiful art style. Music was very calm and I really liked the creaking stairs sfx. Also, good job including nice details like the tombstone markings.
Because it was a download game, I didn't see your game page on my first playthrough so I was only rotating the sparkly objects. I thought rotating them was only about 'haunting' the house. After hitting escape, I realized you had a checklist of the items/keepsakes in the house.
On second playthrough (and after looking at game page), used R to pickup items. This got a little confusing as I was trying to collect all the items but kept dropping and picking up with seeming little control over picking up versus dropping. Inside the house, it was really neat using some of the distractions (tv, clock) and the fireplace as a shortcut and the vases to hide in.
I really liked the ghost character.
Also, really appreciate the 'quit' button for any download game so I can avoid ending program with Task Manager.
Nice submission!
The art of this game was BEAUTIFUL!
One of the most original games for me in this jam. I have to say that the long fadeouts and insta dying a lot when entering the house because I held left were annoying, but besides this the game was amazing. Didn't found any bugs, sound was also great, everything worked well.
Great job!!!!!
I will also say I had fun playing it, perhaps it got a bit monotonous to be doing the same thing again and again. It's also a bit easy to miss some of the text, and I had to restart the game two times before I got all information needed to play the game. But the visuals, sound and music is all really good, and it fits the game idea very well. Overall is this a really good jam game. Well done.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I totally agree polish is polish and I would have wanted to make the game more difficult but you can't do everything in a limited amount of time.
Also if I have to choose I think a GameJam game should be too easy rather than too difficult. And I felt a cozy relaxed feel wasn't bad so we didn't worry about it being a pretty easy game. :D
Good idea, and fun game.
Thank you good sir!
You can watch a Devlog for this game here: https://solitar.itch.io/grave-decor/devlog/493711/devlog-video-for-grave-decor-b...

how do you move objects? I want to wait to rate until I can get the full experience. Anyway the overall feel of the game is amazing! Love the idea and the 2D/3D art style is cool and unique! I want to play more but I could only rotate the objects. I would go up to them and click E and they would rotate but thats it.
Thank you for giving our game a try!
You should be able to pick up and drop items with R.
Edit// Added the controls to the game page, it was an overlook from us to not put them there in the first place :')
thank you!
Ya this is a really cool concept and unique way to fit the theme. The vibe was perfect for the visuals and the story. Also very cute graphics in some areas the cute skull on the the afterlife door was funny!
Pretty cool idea. Really liked that you can hide in objects!. Would have been fun if you could hide in a TV an still show your face.
That's actually a really good idea :D
A very nice experience. The game looks and sounds great! The Gameplay is fun and things like the fireplace and the TV are great ways of using the ghost idea.
I personally would have enjoyed less but harder objectives more but that's all I have to critique. One of my favorites.
I agree! I would have wanted to atleast make the enemy become more aggressive as you get stuff out of the house. But then again the look is so cozy and cute that I don't actually mind that the gameplay is really easy. Also "death" (pun intended) is not very punishing :D
I love the concept of this game. It looks great!
Like your games name :D :D :D
Sam lol
Really like the art and the feel of the game!
I move all the stuff just outside the house then accident exited the passage and respawn at my ghost home, then all the stuff i left outsde the house are gone hahahah xD
Yeah it doesn't say it anywhere but you can only "unlock" a single item at a time. If their location was persistent you could carry them outside and then just go one-by one :D I like how you think!
Thanks for playing our game! I'm gonna go try yours!
Nice game! It feels well the theme, and the visuals look really good.
Thank you! I finished your game as well :D I had to back and check was the math problem actually correct :D
I very like this game, it's funny, interesting and eye-catching, but i fell into the void by going to the left at the house basement which forced me quit and restart my progress
It would seem I have forgotten to add colliders to the basement walls :D THanks for the bug report :)
Wow nice game, did made everything alone?
I really like the way you have interpreted the them and nice graphics D
would you try out my game and rate it according
Thank you! We had a team of three; two artists and one programmer.
Super cool guys well done
Nicely done! Someone has been clearly working hard!
Thank you! We almost felt like we bit more than we could chew, but at least we got it out in time!
Yeah least you did a lot of people lost the opportunity to upload
Yeah. I had the week off so I spent like 7-9h / p coding. My friends who did the art are professionals so they got that done pretty quickly and some of the trees are from asset packs which helped. But sure did feel like having a beer today :D
Great game!
Thank you! Glad you enjoy cozy casual games :D
The artwork was really good. I did end up falling through the level in the basement.
That's unfortunate! Still, thank you for playing and glad you liked the art!
Oh really :D Where :D I wanna know so I can maybe fix it in the post jam version. Did I forget to ass a wall collider perhaps :D :D :D
Thanks for playing I really appreciate it.
It was in the basement on the left somewhere I think
I really love the art, so cute!
Thank you! My friends did an awesome job. They are both professionals tho so I was in good company. :D
