Cool that you made a card game, and designed cards and so on. Unfortunately, I didn't really understand it. Would benefit greatly from a well made tutorial!

I like the idea, bonus points for being creative and going for a card game. That's my hopeful plan for the next jam :)

As others mentioned it was a bit hard to understand what to do at the start, but after a few random clicks I managed to understand and play quite a bit. Looks really nice aswell.

Overall I enjoyed it but I think with an easier learning curve this could be super solid, well done.

I wasn't really sure how to play the game at first, but the visuals are great and it feels like it runs well. Also feel free to check out my game if you have the time ;)

I like that you went for a card game! I wasn't really 100% sure what was happening, but others have mentioned that with some instructions or more visuals that would help! Maybe a short tutorial level with a smaller deck and fewer card effects might be able to ease the player into the experience. I'd love to see this fleshed out as I love card games!

Design is awesome! I just simply did not understand how game works, but that is because I dont play card games at all. Effects are awesome.

pretty confusing at first but pretty fun, wish there were instructions!

i completely don't know what i'm doing but it was fun :P

The idea is pretty cool. Card games can usually get complicated, especially when there's no clear explanation. But in the description, you sum it up well. The music and sound effects is creepy, but a little loud. Maybe tone it down a little would be suffice. This is me saying with 60% volume. The visuals are outstanding. The game mechanic is quite complex.

The part where the card says "discard" confused me. I'm unsure which card they will discard from my hand, so that's something odd. When there are too many cards, it's very difficult to navigate. Maybe with a little animation on the cards, the game would look much more polished.

I like the game. It's a pretty well and solid game. Good job submitting it in 7 days.

Idea is pretty cool, I managed to escape. Took me a bit to figure our how the cards worked but in the end I got invested and escaped :P

Although I didn't quite manage to get through it, i did find the idea and concept of this game really intriguing! I liked the fact that the cards serve both as the actions, and as the locations in which you navigate, that's something unlike anything ive seen before.

good job!

I drew about a 100 cards by clicking on “draw” and then I won. I don’t think this is how it is supposed to be, is it?

This is a valid win, due to how the deck gets shuffled ghosts could be after the 3 exits required to win. I was hoping to have time to implement local multiplayer which would prevent this win by spreading the exits between multiple players. Other solutions to prevent it would have been adding more cards that cause you to discard cards on draw (with the lacking animations it didn't feel fair to the player to discard the cards highly often), or rigging the deck to ensure Ghosts enter the field before any exit is found.

Also, with how quickly ghosts can take their turn you may have not noticed they did...

I like the idea but some cards aren't that clear about what they do: they have both draw and play effects ? Also, the heart cards are just there to have initial cards to discard ?

Also, I find confusing to have so many cards.

Some more animations to visualize what card are discarded based on what card was played would be nice (it's way too fast).

Cool idea, would need some adjustments!

Developer

Thank you for the detailed feedback!
Definitely agree about needing more animations to help pace the game!
Feel like if I continue working on this I should add options to sort your hand to help deal with the large number of cards that can collect in them.
And yeah, a few cards do things when you draw them as well as when you play them, some are from testing the draw and play events that never got redesigned.

As for hearts, they were intended to be a life indicator. They'll be removed if I continue working on the project.

Looks good but very confusing maybe a tutorial would help

I don't understand how to play

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback!

Is there anything specific that you didn't understand? I've always struggled with writing directions and tutorials so if there's anything I can do to improve the directions in the description it would be a huge help!

basically everything i think i am doing it right but there isn't any feedback when i do something
