How does you game fit the theme?
By switching realities, some elements of the game world cease to exist (Not real). Also reality has a fun play on the word "real"!

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes

The concept behind this is really good, especially the bashing part. The graphics and music are awesome. My biggest gripe is the difficulty. I think one of the main things that makes it hard is the jump. At the speed the player is moving it is hard to jump before the player leaves the platform which make the long jumps really really hard. Making it so that you can jump for a few milliseconds after leaving the ground would probably fix that problem.

Other than being really difficult this game is really good and definitely has a ton of potential if you make it a bit easier at the beginning. Great Job!

Developer

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, QOL (I think that's QOL..?) changes like that are some of the things we talked about, but we were more focused on finishing the levels.  Difficulty was also one of those things that get very hard to gauge after testing a level 500 times xD, definitely some stuff to improve either for this game or next time!

Utterly fantastic! Hell of a time with a concept I've never seen executed before. Taking a point away for the mode switch sound effect being really annoying after so many times. Great work!

Developer

Thanks a ton!! I can't really say anything about the dimswitch sound other than I agree lol.

the game looks really good! and the mechanic is very good it just has a very high learning curve.

this game could be a great mobile game given its blocks design and simple mechanic this game could get difficult extremely fast.

over all 10/10 i like it

Developer

Thank you! Lotsa people had issues with the difficulty, so definitely something to look out for next time!

Although the main idea of switching between planes isn't that unique, I love the mechanic that lets  you go inside a wall to fling yourself! It adds so much more depth to the game! My biggest critique is that in my opinion, it's too hard for a jam game. People are going to quit before they finish it, making whatever work you did afterwards pointless. That doesn't mean you should make it "Press x to win", it means that you should show your take on the game jam as neatly as possible. Everyone wants to play everyone else's games so if they play a game and get stuck they're going to switch to another game. That doesn't mean it's a bad game if it's hard, it just means less people will play it to the end! Aside from that, it's an amazing game with gorgeous visuals that could be turned into a full release! Hope you make more games in the future!

Thanks! The "bash" mechanic was what we introduced to try and keep things fresh, glad it was noticed. Also yeah, this was our first  game with real level design and difficulty progression as major factors, so there were definitely some hurdles in that regard. You're 100% correct with the difficulty, after playing a level 300 times to make sure the puzzle aspect still works and going into them with the solutions in mind, there's no way they are gonna be as hard as a new players experience. Had we more time, we would have made more levels to ease the player into the concept and movement more fluidly. Thank you for the feedback!

Mechanic isn't that unique but I think the great graphics and game design makes up for that. Great work!

Developer

Thanks! We tried to introduce some things like the "bashing" mechanic to keep things fresh but ultimately yes, switching dimensions isn't something entirely new.  Thanks for playing though!

This is one of the best games I've played during this jam!

Love the menu, I love the art style! The only question i need to ask, was I meant to die 120 times to come somewhere or am I just bad? xD It perfectly fits the theme! I like the game, Keep it up! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! The difficulty curve was something we struggled with the most, so definitely normal that everyone died... Alot... xD

Cool and crazy experienced game

Thanks!

Absolutely gorgeous game! The voxel art and shaders look really nice together! And the music is incredibly feeling! It felt like playing at 3D version of a Nitrome game! Very polished for a game jam submission! If I had any suggestions to make, I would say to take a look at the movement code! It's mostly good, but there are times where the character doesn't jump when they are moving. Other than that though, it was a lot of fun! My friend was actually able to complete it in around 16 minutes! I can definitely see the speedrunning potential for this game! Awesome job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words! Graphics was one of our main focuses. As for the movement there are a few known bugs as when transitioning between different colliders the grounded flag sometimes doesn't get set.  Some of my friends have been having a go at speedrunning with a segmented theoretical run at 45 seconds, and my PB at around 50 seconds. Glad you and your friend are enjoying!!!

Super art of the game!!!

Graphically stunning and gameplay-wise polished game. Bravo!
I really like the main menu - it just shows that you went the extra step! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks!! I spent a bunch of time on the menu and getting it to work on controller, glad it wasn't wasted!

I love the voxel art and it has a very intereresting mechanic with the "rocket jump".

Maybe it is a bit too hard. There are some very close jumps that makes frustrating to fail that much in a simple jump. I like hard games, but those jumps feel a bit unfair.

Anyways, good job! It's the kind of game I would buy for my Switch!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Had we a bit more time we would have added more levels to smoothen the difficulty curve, definitely something to work on for next time.

Very visual pleasing game! Loved the mechanics and the world switch effect!

Developer

Thanks!!

Graphics are incredible, and the switching between worlds is seamless.

Developer

Thanks a ton! Both of those were points we tried to hit, so glad it worked!

Amazing graphics!

Developer

Thanks! That was something we spent a lot of time on!

The platformer \ reality switch was a really good idea on this jam. Great job!!!

Developer

Thank you! We tried to be a bit creative with the idea of appearing and disappearing blocks by using the "bash" mechanic where you get launched.

Wow. A fantastic looking game and super smooth to play. I love that the music switches from the two realms but not jarringly. Really excellent work. Congrats!

Developer

Thanks for the comment! Trying to communicate the switching of realms as a physical process smoothly was something I spent a bunch of time on, glad it was a success in that regard!
