Cool concept and I liked the art, it's cool to see that you made it all by yourself, but I think the game is missing something... Maybe some more interesting patterns for the enemies or maybe even a boss fight were you have to manage the damage you take and use the barrels to deal damage to the boss... Just some random thoughts, I think that with a little bit more work this could become a fun game!
The concept is pretty cool, but I just can't understand how to play the game honestly. It looks to me like you are not really able to buy any of the upgrades expcept the first two and then just build as many factories as I can, but even doing like so I get to a point where I end up finishing all the money. I think I'm missing something...
I like the art on this one a lot, it's pretty simple but charming at the same time I think. You should consider rebinding the keys it would make this play a lot better, or even allowing it to be played with the controller. I found myself way too many times trying to attack but pressing space by mistake . The music is pretty cool but it is repetitive so it gets annoying pretty fast. I think that fixing those things and maybe adding some bosses and a story would make a pretty cool game, good job!
Oh ok, I'm using linux too, there's an issue with the format we used for the starting cutscene, apparently linux does not support the codec we used to encode the video, and that breaks the game on linux, we also found out the same issue occurs with the web build of the game, we should have an updated version working soon, I'll also try to build a native linux version too
Cool idea, the game isn't bad but I think a bit of background music and some sfx would really help, also it feels a bit empty, maybe adding some enemy would have helped with that felling.
I found that most of the time when going in places where you should die you won't respawn and have to close the game manually, also I got stuck in two different places where even switching between worlds didn't help me
Damn this game is hard! Maybe it's just cause I'm not a bullethell fan but I really struggled and I think that maybe adding more lifes could improve the game, anyway I also found out that you can just smash the j key, spoiling a bit the sense of the game when it comes to the theme.
Pretty solid entry overall, good job!
I really like the artstyle, especially the UI looks really good, and I think with some sound effects and music this could really have a great atmosphere but I found some bugs that break the game for me, and I really like the idea of the battery that runs out for the time mechanic.
Unfortunately after opening the first chest the next showed just this empty textbox, and when opening the one in the first room to the top the game froze, tried again and it froze even the second time.
This happened in another room, the one after the hallway, all the way to the top, and also all the battery drops except the first one won't be picked up by the player.
I also found that I could not go to the rooms all the way to the right, maybe I'm missing something.
Really cool game, the graphics are really good and the music is pretty good too, the only thing I think could be improved a bit is the gameplay, the enemies feel a bit dumb and with most of them except the ranged you can just stay still and spam attack to kill them, but this is still one of the best games I've played in this jam, good job!
The images are really cool and the atmosphere is good too, but I think the game is a bit too slow, I would have liked the option to go to the next dialogue when clicking a button instead of waiting this long, at one point I thought the game crashed honestly... Also after speaking to theo I got stuck and couldn't figure out where I needed to go
The idea seems cool from what you have written in the description and pretty fitting for the theme, the graphics are pretty nice too, but honestly I didn't understand anything of what was going on, I found the game really confusing, I think a tutorial would really help here or at least a description on the page, also the audio was a bit buggy
Hi! The premise of the game seems interesting, even tough I personally think it doesn't have much to do with the theme of the gamejam... I can't really give an opinion on the gameplay because I got stuck at the second puzzle, it does not seem possible to me to connect only 3 machines considering some pipes can't be rotated, but maybe I'm missing something here...
Anyway I noticed the background ambient sound doesn't loop, so after a while the sound will stop.
Really nice game, I really got hooked, good job!
The only suggestion that I'd like to make is that at one point the cards become a bit too based on the random values, which is cool, but also I think that giving the players a choice between purely luck based card and more normal ones and to try and create a balance in the deck that way might be a bit more interesting.
Anyway great job!
Hey thank you really much for you comment we really appreciate it!
Yeah it does kinda feel a bit like courage the cowardly dog, it wasn't actually intentional even tough I think all of us on the team grew up watching the show, we wanted to give a desolate and lonely vibe to the game which I think put us in that direction.
1. Yeah while looking back at the code I noticed we were doing something wrong for the camera basically adding a value that was using a delta time to another that wasn't for the rotation thus creating that bug. About the options menu it was actually intentional, we added it because we noticed the problem with the sensitivity but couldn't figure out what was causing it, and to add it to the main menu we needed to refactor some code and we just didn't have the time.
2. We knew this could happen again didn't have time to fix it sadly :(
3. Makes sense, didn't really think about it, we did the windows build like 5 minutes before the deadline lol
4. That's a really good suggestion, due to the time I didn't quite have the time to polish up the game and most of the team hasn't a lot of experience with this kind of stuff, we are currently using the default terrain in unity but we could switch to lower resolution meshes or just lower the resolution, and yeah of course we also didn't need the colliders to be active, so we'll have to fix that
Again thank you so much for you comment!
Hey thank you for you comment, unfortunately it's not that easy, we are using smoothDeltaTime to rotate the camera but it just seems to vary a lot based on the pc for some reason, thanks anyway for the suggestion!
Anyway you can set the sensitivity in the pause menu if you want to give it another try!
Hey thanks for your comment, we had a bit of an issue with the sensitivity, for some reason on some pcs it is really low while on others it's way too much, anyway we playtested the game ourselves and we also asked friends to play it and everyone thought it was actually a bit too easy most of the people that tried it managed to get to the 10th day or so... Anyway we play a lot of fps so that maybe helped.
The concept of expanding is inserted in the game first through the expansion of the fruit, cause we thought it would be something pretty unusual to have has enemies, also through the expansion of the number of enemies to beat everyday and maybe also something you haven't noticed considering you only got to day one was the expansion of the tree, which gets bigger everyday and that at the 7th day releases a demon that was inside the tree all along.
