How does you game fit the theme?
In Squares Are Not Real, your little brother has fears that you don't believe are real. By helping him, you'll find out that your conception of reality might not be completely accurate.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, except Naninovel stuff and some free PNGs for the character expressions.

Well definitely not the normal kind of shape game setup I'm used to seeing, got a nice little story here though which definitely adds a bit to the game and gives a bit of incentive. It is also nice that it fits with the gameplay to give buffs.
Although it is a little weird that they gives buffs since everything is real so I guess Triangle has some sort of mind control power top create buffs or something and he used it based off what Circle said? At least that's what I imagine from my perspective.
Gameplay wise though, dang is it hard. I honestly only won because I managed to bug myself into a wall, by accident and then proceeded to murder everything from inside the wall. It's definitely a bit of a jumpscare when all of sudden there's squares LITERALLY everywhere. I knew he said they were everywhere, but I didn't actually believe that part. Although it does add a bit of flair to gameplay the way that they work as physics objects and just are intent on murdering you and nothing else. Although pathfinding would help a bit.
It also seems like there might be a bit of.. sort of used strategy with blocking the squares with physics objects. The doors etc. which I managed to do by accident a bit, though obviously not consistently since there doesn't seem to be a way to block, could be wrong, maybe the player can stop the doors opening. Although if so then the player is a little too slow compared to the squares. They are the flash of Square armies I guess.
Overall though a really well done bullet hell base, with some iffy stuff on movement speed and dashing to randomly Go Ghost and phase into walls. Plus that added spice of the visual novel element, which sort of helps gameplay obviously, it's not ever present but it is an interesting addition to the game overall.
The game was fun! I really love the visual and how the dialogue options affect what bonuses you have in the fight. But man, it was hard and I had to click through the dialogue several times. When I finally was able to beat the game I was just dashing the first half of the fight, then I got a UZI and there were so many bullets that the audio just glitched, objects were stuck in the walls… complete mayhem. :D
An interesting story, I thought I could win but I was wrong :( Nicely done, a pleasing game to look at!
Very fun story, I like it!
Very fun concept- used an almost sim style gameplay and then switched to top down shooter. Audio was great and picking power ups was great too. I do have to wonder though: Is it actually beatable? :O
Either way: Very fun!
Great game! loved the concept, you did a great job with it!
Rated !!! would you kindly rate mine too!?, I'd really appreciate it if you do, Thanks!

The dialogue deciding what bonus stats you get is really clever! Nice work on the graphics, too!
I like how you pick choices in each dialouges, it gave me hexagon vibes because of the shape design.. Very interesting gameplay
I really enjoy your use of black and white in this game. The gameplay section was very fun, and I really like the concept of dodging the objects as they move towards you. Again, the visuals here were really great. It took me a while to realize I could press space to dodge, but once I realized that, it all made sense. Very fun
Love the Vibe! Good visuals! Like how you also start with a little dialogue! If you got the time please take a look at my project! <3
I really like that my dialog choices impact the game play that occurs. Gj.
