Cool stuff! There were a few things I would've wanted. One is that the enemies could have been done without the blocking and maybe have them move faster and have more HP instead. I spent around 20 seconds on each mob to hit them at least once.  The other thing is that the "imaginary" objects still obscure my vision. Maybe it's a design choice but I would've liked it if the objects became transparent during the duration.

Other than those two things, I loved the movement and the controls. Being able to dash mid-air is always a fun thing. The mechanic for filling up the magic bar was a very good implement since it prevents players from just skipping the levels (unless they memorized the layout). The choice between healing or seeing unreal objects was also a good implement.

Good Job!

Fun Game :)

I really liked the effort put in the jump/dash mechanic, saving system and provinding hints as we fail!

By the way, you could have used an animator layer with an avatar mask for the upper body so that the player could walk and attack at the same time. It is very easy to implement and improves the attack animation.

Overall, well done! :)

Please consider checking our game, rating and also give feedback!

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it!

It's funny you should mention the avatar mask, I had the same idea but when I changed the rig to "humanoid" the orientations were off so a lot of my animations looked wonky. I tried wrestling with it but this being a game jam and time being so precious I just decided to go without it.

I will definitely check out your game in the morning!

Hey!

Well done!

I like the aesthetics and the main character animation,

Some feedback:

* The main character fighting is good. I think the enemies attack could maybe be improved a little. Specially the feedback when they make you damage.

* I ended up discovering the mechanics on my own, which was rewarding, but I'm not sure if everyone will get it / have enough patience

Good Job!

Hello ! That's such a cool game ! I had a lot of fun playing it ! I would love to see this idea further developed for a whole game :D

I would advise you to take a bit more time to explain the main mechanics and the combat mechanics though, I had some troubles to understand it at first, but I did understand it was perfect !

I also had some bugs with the enemies being invincible and not able to touch me anymore after I healed, but after reflection, I realize that they were probably fake enemies, so you might have to ignore this x)

Good job ! :)

I loved the design of this game! I only got stuck for like a minute and it felt really good to figure it out. I liked how the platforming wasn't too difficult, because I really suck at it haha. I think it could have visually been made more interesting, it made the levels feel very samey because everything always looked purple.

Overall, solid game and best I've played so far!

Really fun game!! I didn't understand how to use the 'eye of disillussion' at first, but I figured it out after a while! great job making this game ^^b

Surprisingly very fun! Great job. The not real mechanics worked well and fighting the enemies felt nice with the slight timing you had to do. I also like how the character controlled. It felt very solid.  I think the graphics/color scheme could be improved a lot. It did get slightly frustrating falling off and having to start at the beginning since the enemies, while pretty easy, did take a little while to hack through every time.

I really liked your game. It was very interesting too. Great job and keep on doing, what you do. :)

If you don’t mind, I would love, if you check out my game as well. :)

Really liked it! The gameplay is quite simple, but really fun and challenging. The combat here especially feels great :)

Liked the disillusion concept, took me a short while to understand it, first couple of times phasing through platforms were kind of confusing. Fighting to get the energy to cast the spell was nice, the enemies themselves were not amazing but worked fine.

Incredible game! Really nice mechanics of killing enemies for mana and using it to respawn or view unreal objects. Wish there’d be some tutorial, though - I only noticed you can gain mana and use it for respawn on level 2, and that you can press [Q] on level 4 (reached there by simply memoizing which platforms are real). Unreal walls are a bit off-putting as well, since you often go through them and fall down immediately, so you have to turn your camera in such a way the it gets inside the walls and can effectively see through thanks to back-face culling.

Anyways, enjoyed the game a lot, great job!

The fake platforms threw me so off - Great job!!!

A remarkable game. Jolly good combat. I do wish that it was more obvious that I could use the eye of disillusion without acquiring something first. Now I know that I simply must have my magic up. Good show!

I loved this game, it is quite fun to play and the graphics and ennemy behevior are quite nice (it also reminded me of the lens of truth from zelda ocarina of time, i don't know if that was your inspiration but i like it :D )

i also would greatly appreciate it if you check out my game and give me your feedback ^^

Thanks! I'm happy to hear how much you liked it! And yes,  Zelda inspired me somewhat, it was hard to think of the name I would use for the spell because I kept thinking "Lens of Truth" or "Eye of Truth" but those are already things lol.
