How does you game fit the theme?
It is set in a surreal, black and white world, where two stickmen are waiting for the "real game" to start.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I created everything from scratch except for the songs and the typewriter effects used in the dialogues.

So there I was...

Just standing around, waiting for the game to begin like every other day.

Suddenly this weird guy appears and asks me all these stupid questions... annoying.

Something about his coin and what not.

He finally left but I keep hearing this constant bouncing... huh, back to waiting.

I really enjoyed this. somehow annoying that guy was really entertaining :D

Developer

Ohhh I see you're switching to the other point of view... interesting

very cool "game", i really loved the concept of the real game not starting for a while, but best of all, you won't get cancelled on twitter because of your ukraine touch at the end!

Developer

We're all on the verge of cancelation lol, thanks HOIman! Glad you enjoyed it

I LOVED ALL OF THIS.

Wow, if you manage to make a two stickmen dialogue interesting for 15 minutes, you already won.

At first I really hoped it was something like "Waiting for Godot", it had the same vibes, and when I saw the tree I was literally screaming because you basically confirmed my though (and then I read you reply, a bunch of comments under this).  Also, please make me happy: is the coin a reference to "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead"?

I loved the meta-game you were able to create, the pacing of the story, the well-written dialogues. The UI is simple, but nevertheless effective and fits perfectly with the abstract and absurd aura of the tale.

I don't know what to say, I think I already found my favourite entry.

Developer(+1)

Thanks you so much! I'm really happy you liked the game!

Nice job catching the "Waiting for Godot" references (especially the tree one).

Unfortunatelly when I made the coin sequence I didn't have in mind any play in particular, but I was generally ispired by the "theatre of the absurd" (but I see how you might think this is a reference to the coin in "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead").

With the coin I wanted to introduce an element that is very commonly used in videogames and by making it absolutely useless I wanted to stress the lack of purpose and the absurdity of the whole game.

If you'd like to know more about the development of the game, in a couple of days I'll publish a devlog on my YT channel, so feel free to follow me there. Fabiulous Games YT Channel

Thanks again! This comment made my day!

Thanks, I'll definitely look for your devlog (and your channel)! And if you'll ever make another game about theatre of the absurd, please let me know ;P

Also, now that I understand what you were looking for, the coin sequence makes a lot of sense (...well, for a nonsense scene). Great job, again!

Developer

Will do! Take care ;)

Really interesting game :D and i am pretty sure you are now an expert in making dialogues :D

Developer

Yeah this dialogue system was a bit tricky lol. Glad you enjoyed the game!

Holy shit that was deep

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah... it turned out deeper than I expected, hope you enjoyed it :)

Pretty funny. Loops back to some pretty existential thoughts toward the end. Great work.

Took a look at your yt channel from the link at the end - it's pretty entertaining too btw.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you also found the YT channel :)

This game was by far my most favorite game yet! I loved interacting with the other stick man and reading the dialogue. I gave them funny voices lol.

Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it! :)

This is the best thing I've played so far, very creative. It reminds me of the play "Waiting for Godot" (not the game engine)

Developer

Thank you! Yes! It is actually very inspired the play "Waiting for Godot", nice catch ;)

Glad you enjoyed this!
