How does you game fit the theme?
Our idea was to play with the contrast of reality and imagination through they eyes of child. We were thinking of a young boy that is brought to bed but does not want to sleep. So he sneaks out of his bedroom, takes up his little flashlight and goes for a nightly walk through the house to find some delicious cookies. But as you are approaching the dark living room that once looked so familiar during daytime wild creatures arise and start to creep up on you - but what is reality and what is just arising from your lively imagination?

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes

Hi! Loved every aspect of the art style and the gameplay is really good as well.

Congrats!

I love the cartoon-y, almost cut out look of the art style! The concept is cute, and the limited animation really felt at home with the character design! I think it would be nice if there were more powerups like the milk, since running away from the monsters was a little difficult since they moved with you! Why does this family own so many cabinets and plants?? Overall, the story, art, and gameplay are great! And the fact that you were able to add cutscenes in such a short amount of time is awesome! If you plan to come back to this game after the jam, I think adding in more audio would be a good step to take! Awesome work!

Great premise and execution of the premise. The art is fantastic. Lighting effects are really well done and compliment the art. The milk power-up is a nice bonus that mixes up the standard gameplay.

I was a bit confused by the fact that the monsters only move when the player moves. It removes a lot of tension from the game. I get that it adds to the idea that they aren't real, though.

The face the kid makes at the end gave me a good laugh.

Game feels really finished and the graphics were really pleasing!

Amazing art. I would personally increase the speed of both the player and the game by a bit, but it was still a very fun and entertaining game. Well done! <3

I don't think I need to say anything about the art, great stuff!
Imagine a bonus 6th star for including cutscenes.

The gameplay is simple, responsive and engaging.

You have a slight balance issue with the flashlight refilling when standing still and the monsters not moving. If you want you can basically play infinite that way.

Everything about your game is super polished and it just feels round.

Great stuff! The art was really stunning, and worked great for this style of game. I think the core gameplay was also well-designed, even tense at times. The only problem I had was that I couldn't hear any audio, but I still think the game was fun and well put together. Good job!

The artwork is absolutely amazing. Really nice job.

This is a fantastic game! the art is absolutely stunning, the transition to scribbly unrealistic monsters to more normal looking furniture really gave me that feeling of when you see something in the dark as a kid and think its a monster. only issue was the audio was a bit off

I found the secret

Oh nice. Some feedback to the game for you:

I love the graphic design and the audio. The gameplay is quite fun for some time. I did not realize that it is a highscore game at first. I think for a highscore game the difficulty should improve a bit over time. I had the impression that i could have played forever without loosing somehow, so time is the real enemy. Also i think this game could be more fun when it was faster altogether.
But as I siad I enjoyed it and its a good submission.

Loved the idea ! & the art is absolutly lovely ! the only thing missing is a nice soundtrack :)

Got a hight score of 56 !.. & died when a monster literally spawned in front of me :/

Search every corner of the map but didn't find any easter egg though.

You guys did a great work ! kuddos !

Good work!!! That art and concept of game is amazing. Mainly the monsters and their transition to normal object is realy nice touch. I found small bug where enemy spawned on me and i lost my high score :D But over all realy nice work... one of the best grafic that i saw in this jam :)

The  game was a very nice expirence. The art is very clean and pretty. I like the meccanic of freezing with the light. The only thing that bother me a little was the  spawns of the monsters, they could spawn on you and kill you instantly and unfairly

This game is fun to play AND looks fantastic. The flowy hand-painted look fits nicely into the theme of playing a toddler. I love how the monsters transformed into furniture and back again.

I the first playthrough I must have spawned inside a monster because I couldn't even move before there was a loudish noise and then the game over screen. But this wasn't a real setback since the rounds after that went nice and smooth. I decided on ending it with 20 cookies because I didn't want to be the one responsible for this poor child getting a stomach ache.

I found the audio a bit strange since there wasn't any music in the beginning and while playing sounds seemed to sometimes be missing.

Despite that I'm in love with this game, the art style, animations and I would love to see this game evolving even further.

PS: I do believe these monsters were real!

PPS: It would be awesome if some of you have the time to rate our game as well:
