How does you game fit the theme?
You have to catch the fruits. The thing is some of the fruits are not real some are junk foods in disguise. You have to use the light to identify which are real.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
all except the theme music. I got it from YouTube free music.

The idea is fun, but it's a bit difficult to get a very high score.

Nice work. This was pretty cool!

This is a great first game jam game, I hope you had a lot of fun making it :) It's pretty tricky to get those fruits that spawn on the opposite side of the platform, was exciting to play, once I realized you could cross the edge it was a lot more fun.

I really liked the sound effects of the game. I think movement should be a bit faster, and maybe a jump would be nice too!

Good job on your first game jam!

Fun little game. I like the choice of music. I think the player movement was a bit slow for ths kind of game but other than that you really did a great job considering that it was ur first jam. Well done!

Great game! Enjoyed it! Got far until there was food that spawned on the exact otherside so only suggestion I have is allow character movement to be a little faster so they have enough time to reach the other side. Otherwise, great 1st game jam game!

Developer(+1)

actually, you can go to the left or right border and it will teleport you to the other side. thanks for the feedback

Didn't know that, that's awesome!

You made quite an awesome game for your 1st ever game jam. Well done! I like the fact that you even provided a bit of a tutorial in the game too. You could release a post game jam version of the game too. One suggestion is that maybe you can start the game being a little easier. The character's speed could be faster and the torch's range could be farther. But as your score increases the speed and torch range could start to fall... Currently my highscore was just 3 lol xD

i feel like if the movement might be a little slow or the flashlight too short. I know the point is to only recocnize junk food when its a bit too late but if the game was a bit more hectic by dropping more food and giving the player more movement speed, the player is bound to make mistakes sooner or later. Other than that; cant complain about visuals or audio, the games definitely on theme, i like the idea with the flashlight and the game runs in WebGL which is pretty hard to pull off as i learned recently. props to ya and keep on making games :) Good stuff!

Love the concept here ! and the gameart is really good ! Had fun playing it :)

I think you can extend a little more the ray for checking the food, is a little bit too close. Good Job! ;)

I really liked what you did with using the light to reveal the junk food. Gives extra depth to the "catch this" mechanic that I think makes it fit in quite well with the theme and be quite cool.

Good old mechanic of catching objects. Very funny sounds, really like it)) Good luck

Those potato chips to pretending to be apples are evil, cool idea! Maybe they can use this in schools to educate kids about healthy food ;)

Maybe more could be done with the flashlight, like making it more difficult to point but have a larger range?

This game is awesome! The sound effect of eating is cool!
