The enemies in our game can merge to become more powerful, they are stronger together.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Every single asset and piece of code was made from scratch by F35H (music and sound), DeathBiscuitt (2D art) and Avace (code), during the jam's week.

Loved playing the victim of the jam's theme for once
The sprites and voices are a lot of fun and go perfectly with the game's sense of humor
Always appreciate little quality of life features like obstacles fading when you're behind them or having a functional mini map (tho some critters did hide behind it on the bottom left of the map very often)
Definitely felt the difference in strength as soon as those dark brown hearts started appearing
The shooting is a bit basic (tho I only noticed the powerups after my playthrough) and, since you don't gain health back, I would've liked some unlockable attacks based on the wave or sth
Would like to see how far the concept can be pushed. I can imagine a giant-environment-breaking-heart as a later enemy or something crazier 🤣

The funny part is that originally it was planned to have weapons swap out like in old arena shooters. Due to time, misunderstandings, and some scheduling issues, it was never added in. Furthermore, an idea was thrown around to literally fight cupid as a boss, but, again, we never got around to it.
Notably, for some reason, health wasn't really thought about. I don't even remember it really mentioned much until the last few days. Health [for both the enemies and the player] weren't really things until the last few days as previously the death for the hearts was instant death and Dupic didn't even have death yet. I have an idea of the reason, but it'd be best to ask Avace on this one.
Really really pretty game. Very cute concept. Pretty fun but a little repetitive. The first time I loaded it the enemies were stuck by a wall and killing them all didn't start another wave, circled the map several times and couldn't find/hear anyone. Overall good game though!
Great sense of humor in the menu and the art overall looks great, but my enemies appeared to be stuck in the lower left corner of the map and after I killed them I couldt find any of the remaining ones.
The movement and the shooting also look great, but unfortunately couldnt play a lot.
I really enjoyed this game! The concept is super creative and the art style is adorable. I also really liked having an alternative firing ability and a dash, made the combat and gameplay a lot more fun than just pointing and clicking. Also the sound design was really well done and matched the feel of the game and added to the immersion.
I liked the concept and the art is great, I'd just add some way to know where the enemies are, like some sort of arrow on the edge of the screen, to know where they are. I also don't know if there's an ending, there were just waves after waves, so if there is some way of knowing it would be cool.
Other than that, I really liked it!
Great game! Art and audio are awesome. I love the enemy AI a lot, even chasing the pink heart can be a lot of fun. The problem I see is the mini map is more like a small version of the whole environment. It might need more indication on it and it is covering the bottom left corner. Overall, the game is so cool!
I'll post what I said about it after-the-fact:
"I think the mini-map would have been worth explaining. It also was kind of in the way considering how small the map was.
The mini map is so small that it didn't have that much of a purpose.
If we were to update it, the mini-map could be put in he middle with the ability buttons on the side of it.
I think the mini-map can work, it just needs some touching up"
I would say more, but it's an aberrant story about how the mini-map came up.

Cute art and fun game and the audio didn't disappoint which it usually does for jam games since they r made in a hurry!

Just gorgeous, great art and sounds. The game is quite fun and also funny. I liked the different AIs of the enemies, that part felt very natural and alive. Congrats!

Loved the character design, and loved the weird music. Hearts that flee to the bottom left corner are hidden by the map though
