Nicely done! Maybe the environment could be more pretty, but for seven days, this game feels really good. The mechanic is very fun, but sometimes also annoying, when you are so close to a powerup and can't reach it. Maybe you should implement a slow going forward, when you press "w", and the rewind should be more powerful in less time. But that's just my taste.

In what way does your game fit the theme?
In ReCharger, there's a "reverse" mechanic in order to generate forward movement. Literally rewinding backwards, just not with time.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I used a visual scripting tool, Playmaker, so I didn't really write any code. Except for the script for quality settings.
As for the assets, graphics & models were made from scratch, while music & sfx were free to use.

Thank you! I focused a lot on the vehicle rather than the track/environment itself since I really need to know if the mechanic of reversing would work. I kept working on it until I got to a point where the basic stuff felt right. On a side note, I only had 4 days to develop it.
With the main mechanic, it was really missing one special sauce, the "handbraking." So on my end, I recently added a handbrake control, allowing you to skid. So collecting those pickups and avoiding danger won't be so hard anymore.
But here's a quick tip for the current version:
You can slow down bit by bit by repeatedly tapping on "Reverse."
I will still explore on your suggestions and thank you so much for playing! 馃檹
I've already commented this on your YT vid ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqEarczLmpE ) as well:
This looks pretty sweet! Cool that you were able to do this in just 7 days.
I'll be checking it out on my next stream ( https://www.twitch.tv/NKCSS ) when I play more games from the jam, since I've not played it yet and it looks fun :)
Angry Birds with cars! Awesome haha. Very fun extreme bumber cars game! Great job submitting this cool idea to the jam~ Keep it up! Please check out my game if you haven't :D
This is so well done and polished! I love the graphics and sound design and the concept is pretty unique as well! I'm really surprised you're not more highly ranked! Please check out our game as well if you haven't already! We'd really appreciate it :)
I think more depth in the steering, like being able to drift or do deep turns could really add to the gameplay. It's fun, even if the car's handling could be adjusted a touch. Also, the volume's a bit too high for my taste, so being able to adjust that would be nice. But otherwise, the polish is great and I really appreciate the commitment to making the assets yourself.
I have to say the game is the most unique take on the theme so far, the presentation is superb and the game is a lot of potential.
A game that has the potential for a multiplayer. I liked the gameplay, the graphics and especially the songs, they fit the style of the game! Congratulations :D
