Really fun!  Controlling the ship was a blast and I enjoyed pinballing off of walls as I lost control.  It's pretty simple in terms of presentation, and the two-tone cave system is kind of boring to look at.  It would have been nice to have a little extra color or details in the rock.  The sound works is really excellent in this one--you have awesome effects that are very impactful, and your wife's music is too.  The final task of getting the key was really fun, having to use your speed and force through the barrier. Very rewarding once you figure it out.

My only criticisms are that your text sound effect is a bit too loud, and that the rocket speed/velocity information looks more like debugging info than a UI element.  Though, I like the idea of it a lot.  Good work!

Thanks for your feedback!  Yes, I agree that the cave presentation needs some more refinement.  I'm actually considering an expanded version of the game (with more refined artwork, more enemies, and power-ups) if there's enough interest.

I'll probably reducing the text typing volume,  And I absolutely will refine that velocity UI elment (you are correct that is was basically in place for debugging).

Well done! I like it, simple but sometimes challenging controls, maybe add instruction from the beginning that says where to go, because it showed me only the movement message and I didn't know where should I go.

Very cool space ship design and controls.  They felt smooth with a good amount of deceleration/slipperiness cuz of space.

Nice gameplay.Check out my game also.

Ah.  Almost like Thrust!  I remember that :-)  The gameplay was good, but the restart back to the very beginning was a bit harsh ;-)

Nice work with the bonuses.  The one thing I would say is that the reduced gravity bonus almost felt like it actually made things more difficult.  I'm sure that's just me though.

Thanks for your feedback!  I agree, that restarting at the beginning isn't ideal.  I'd like to make an expanded version that incorporates save states when you reach certain points.

Interesting about the gravity.  I wonder if other's found it more difficult as well.   I'll have to give that some thought.

Thanks so much for your review!

Well-made game! The controls were responsive, the strong momentum provided some challenge when trying to avoid walls. The metroidvania-like level design was interesting, and I liked looking for upgrades. The music was good, too, though felt a bit more gothic/medieval than sci-fi to me. The first turret surprised me with its ruthless fire rate (which was a good thing).

There could have been more hazards and enemy types, like falling stalactite and enemies that follow or charge at you, for example. I was kind of hoping to a weapon or some other way to destroy/disable the turrets, too.

The planet in space was very plain, some details would have made it much more interesting.

The Itch page description and the beginning of the game made it seem like there might be an interesting story, or lore, but I don't think I really learned anything of the ancient civilization other than they were technically advanced, very protective of their cosmic keys, and tended to leave useful stuff lying around in random places. Some cryptic data files, strange murals, and maybe even skeletons would have given more food for the imagination.

Those are some great thoughts!

I agree, I’d love to add more enemies, upgrades, and story elements.  I am seriously considering making an expanded version of the game if there is enough interest.  Adding improving graphics to things like the planet from space (which was really just a placeholder that I didn’t have time to enhance)

I really appreciate your thoughtful feedback.  I can tell you put a lot of thought into your comments, and I will seriously consider adding some of those elements.

I have a bunch of ideas for improvements to the game as well including more characters,  scenery,  puzzles, and possibly a mother ship.

Very detailed game design, nice work! The movement feels great, the game looks amazing and the audio compliments everything. Searching and picking the power-ups is fun, great game!
