Well-made game! The controls were responsive, the strong momentum provided some challenge when trying to avoid walls. The metroidvania-like level design was interesting, and I liked looking for upgrades. The music was good, too, though felt a bit more gothic/medieval than sci-fi to me. The first turret surprised me with its ruthless fire rate (which was a good thing).

There could have been more hazards and enemy types, like falling stalactite and enemies that follow or charge at you, for example. I was kind of hoping to a weapon or some other way to destroy/disable the turrets, too.

The planet in space was very plain, some details would have made it much more interesting.

The Itch page description and the beginning of the game made it seem like there might be an interesting story, or lore, but I don't think I really learned anything of the ancient civilization other than they were technically advanced, very protective of their cosmic keys, and tended to leave useful stuff lying around in random places. Some cryptic data files, strange murals, and maybe even skeletons would have given more food for the imagination.

Those are some great thoughts!

I agree, I’d love to add more enemies, upgrades, and story elements.  I am seriously considering making an expanded version of the game if there is enough interest.  Adding improving graphics to things like the planet from space (which was really just a placeholder that I didn’t have time to enhance)

I really appreciate your thoughtful feedback.  I can tell you put a lot of thought into your comments, and I will seriously consider adding some of those elements.

I have a bunch of ideas for improvements to the game as well including more characters,  scenery,  puzzles, and possibly a mother ship.
