Excellent game with very professional graphics and audio. This one is definitely one of the high quality games in this game jam. I tried so hard but could not reach that wooden platform in the beginning. Maybe i need more training. Keep up the awesome work mate.

I really enjoyed this game. The opening sequence did it for me :) Very nice environment and a great concept!

First, the good news: The only reason I clicked on your game was because of the neat art style. You clearly have some artistic vision and skills to put them in practice. The menu design is fabulous, the level (as far as I got) was also super atmospheric, and the music complements is very well! Good job on that!

Now, the setback: I tried, ok? I tried and tried, until I figured out what's wrong with the mechanics. Your character gets enough speed, but doesn't get enough HEIGHT when JUMPING. I added a drawing to explain what's wrong. You simply don't have enough vertical interval to make every jump succesful. Luckily the character sticks to the geometry, and you can double jump from the corner of a platform, but most of the times, with these narrow settings, it's too darn impossible and gets really frustrating after 50+ tries, even though I wish to see the rest of the game. Did you test it enough? Give your game to 30 people to play and give feedback? When building a level, every object needs to be calibrated in the perfect distance (and with a larger interval for the margin of error, yours is too narrow interval, like in my drawing below).

P.S. I did not rate it yet, because I think you could add more height to that jump. In fact, I really wish you update it, so I can finish this amazing little game!! :D Play test, play test, and more play test!!!

I'll be checking in every day to see that you fixed that jump height ;) Cheers!

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write this out, I appreciate the feedback a lot. About the jump height, it is possible to jump higher by holding in the jump button, but it is very possible that it's still not high enough. Either way, it is on me for either not making the controls tight enough and/or not communicating to the player that there is a mechanic for getting longer airtime.

I definitely should have let some other people playtest it before the deadline, since many complaints about the game turned out to be physics-related(Hard jumps, not enough friction between the player and ground/platforms, etc.).

I will have to post the game to a different page I believe, since updating it directly is against the rules of the Gamejam it was part of. I had some ideas for how I could improve the gameplay, but I figured it was a waste of time, and I'd be better off dropping it, but reading your comment really inspired me to finetune it, so thank you for that.

I'll be replying to you some time in the coming days once I have an updated version of the game, if you're still interested in playing it :)

Sure thing! You're welcome! Getting feedback is essential ;) And you should never abandon your projects. At least polish them to an acceptable decent state, and then you can get it off your back. My teacher said that.

One more tip for your future games: when finishing a level, play-test it to spot early on the not-so-finely-tuned aspects, and then you can continue the  with more insight and better planing/methods (and fewer cleanups lol).

I loved the graphism. Thoses clean low poly art is very very smooth and nice. The sound is great to. But the gameplay could have suffer more work. Animations arn't smooth and it's hard asf to jump on the right places.

So the game both relaxed me, and frustrated me too.

In overall I do enjoyed this experience and I must admit that it's a very good job ! Well done !
