How does the game fit the theme?
If you keep trying, nothing can go wrong :)

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The majority of the assets, such as sprites, tilsets, and most of the music, were free assets found here in itch.io, and credited in the description of the game.

I found the bird blocking projectile was fun ! And also i loved the forest decors. The level design was great too ! Good job on achieving this alone ! :)

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I would really like to expand in the bird idea, having upgrades making its area bigger, homing projectiles instead of being random, oribiting around the player and not only on top of him, etc. Thanks!

Level design was really impressive here! I think it was tough at times to figure out which tiles were background and which were foreground and at one point in the second level if you fall off it deals a single heart of damage and doesn't kill the player right away.

I love that the enemies like the mushroom duck and shield themselves that's really cool; and that the giant bat follows more aggressively when you hit them. The "upgraded" enemies idea is also well implemented with the darker bats.

Great job!

Woow thanks a lot for the comment! And I totally agree about the tiles haha, specially some sewer tiles in the second level. Really appreciate you playing :).

Cool game! I like the idea of the bird that it can block projectiles, and also the mushroom that shoots back. Unfortunately the second level (not counting the tutorial) was too hard for me(

Developer

Thanks! haha yeah I tried to make the second level a little bit harder. Thank you for playing!

Gorgeous little game. And for your first attempt this is very impressive. Controls are good and the level design is great. Well done.

Developer

Thanks!

Good level design. Control feels pretty good. I kept jumping on the background tiles in the area before the last boss. Maybe darkening the background tiles would be great. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks! I totally agree with the background tiles being confusing! Did not have time to fix it before posting it haha

The dad looks absolutely badass! 😂

I loved everything about it, but I’m unsure about the camera following the player. I feel a static camera with fixed movement might work better than the fluid one. Still, I really enjoyed it—great job!

Wow thanks for the tip! I'm new to this so I'll check it out 100%. Thanks for playing!

I liked the movement and overall how the characters felt.
Particularly in Level 2, I sometimes had trouble distinguishing between the background and what’s not. But besides that, I had fun playing it! :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! And for the feedback, I agree! Some of the sewer tiles kind of blend with the background.

I like medieval platformers. Good visuals.

The game could benefit if the shooting mechanic has more control about the direction. So e.g. control of direction with the mouse or a wall bouncing option of the projectile to somehow shot on enemies not in the vertical direction. There was one enemy I could reach hardly with the vertical shoting direction.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

First game I ever make :D.  Any feedback will be well received <3
