How does the game fit the theme?
I don't want to spoil the game so if you haven't played it yet don't keep reading.

On day three the carrots start attacking you.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All music and sfx was found on pixabay.

In my opinion this is very underrated game! Seriously, I was stuck in this game for about half an hour.

I would like to shoot more monsters, I came across them very rarely, it would diversify the gameplay, because it is very fun to kill them)

Despite the fact that I really liked the game and I got stuck in it for half an hour, it seemed to me that the gameplay was a bit drawn out, the game turned into "bring and serve".

I would also like to note that approaching and automatically taking items is a bit inconvenient, it would be better to implement this through some key.

Otherwise, the game is amazing and very underrated. Great job!

It would be very grateful if you check our game too

Thanks, and good luck!

Thanks for playing and feedback! My teammate said that it would be better if you have to press a key to pick stuff up I should have listened.

Love the art style, and it's fun how you end up with a firearm with a little fakeout.  Had some issues with the inventory system though. Found it a little tricky in the browser with the esc key also taking me out of full screen. I think swapping away from the inventory grid entirely would help make the game flow better.  Perhaps you get to have  X amount of items, and can just auto sell them rather than worry about the grid.  Anyhow, great job getting what you've done in the week ^_^

Developer

Thanks! Originally I was gonna have a resident evil style inventory where each item is shaped differently. As for the ESC key taking you out of full screen I made it so Q also opens up your inventory and I did put it in the tutorial I should have made that more obvious.

omg I somehow missed that, it does change things a lot. And damn yeah that makes a lot of sense then. That is a fun mechanic to play around :3

I found the inventory system a bit buggy, frequently I would try to give the NPCs an item and they wouldn't take it, I would have to try each item in my inventory that was seemingly of the same item type.

It would also be nice if items would show a tooltip to tell you what the item is on hovering over it.

I also found that if you picked up an item and your inventory was full, you couldn't swap what was in your hand to choose something to toss.

Music was nice, colours in the game design were also a cosy vibe

Developer

Hmm I didn't have any of those bugs when making the game. Thanks for the idea of the tooltip and the idea of swapping item next time Ill make sure to add those to the game. Thanks for playing and for your feedback!

You know something is going to happen when there is ammo in a farming game lol. I hope you can switch things in inventory instead of having to throw away one. Overall pretty good!

Developer

Yah lol. Thank You!

lol somehow i just saw this comment

I think I soft locked myself on the first play through. I picked up too much and couldn't put the next item down so I was stuck and couldn't get out of inventory. Next playthrough I went slower, I find it a little hard at first to tell what is what. But I sold some potatoes made some money and then... the vegetables came for me.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and for your feedback! You didn't soft lock yourself in your inventory there should have been a small trash can icon in the bottom right   that you can click on to throw something away. I should have made this clearer.

My bad for not seeing that, I'll try it again!

This game was pretty enjoyable, contrary to what you said when you reviewed my own game! It fits the theme pretty well at the start, making the plot twist on day 3 all the more surprising! It's also a neat spin on a Stardew Valley-like farming simulator. The only things that I think could've used a bit more work are the visuals and the post-game from day 3 onward. There's too few evil carrots chasing you at a time and it makes the gameplay feel somewhat repetitive by the end. Overall, it was a fun experience! Great job! :)

cool game. i did NOT feel safe on day 3 and so on, so i had to manage my bullets and resources. the gameplay mechanics are very intuitive and tutorial is easy to understand. if you wish to expand the game, i suggest making the other plants attack you as well, and also add an EVIL npc that SCAMS you out of your plants and money. also make it so you can replace item slots in your inventory, cuz i find myself throwing away plants that i actually needed due to full inventory

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! If I work on it after the jam Ill keep your feedback in mind.

Developer

thanks for the feedback we'll work on it lol
