How does your game fit the theme?
Our game is based on a tower defense concept, the theme 'Calm Before the Storm' is reflected in the gameplay. At the start, there is a brief period of calm where the environment is peaceful, giving the player time to prepare. However, after this short calm, a massive wave of enemies begins to attack, bringing chaos and intensity. This sharp contrast between the calm preparation phase and the storm of enemy assaults directly ties the game’s mechanics to the theme.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
With a team of eight, including three programmers and five graphics team members, we created all the code and assets from scratch. The only exception is the music and sound effects, which were sourced from a royalty-free website called Pixabay.

For me only full screen version worked properly, but besides that, very nice take on Tower Defense games. I loved the fact, that you needed to sell and put towers again while wave were proceeding, cool!

UI breaks when in full screen... Same problem happened with one of mine earlier this year

anyway unique concept, very cool.

Liked that you were able to polish it and everything, though it had no time to show off balance and everything, good job!

Loved the music and the interpretation of the theme. Got through all three waves with no issues. Great work! Congrats and good luck!

Nice TD game! you could've added more level or the game could've been more challenging with more waves. I liked the graphics. Good job!

Submitted(+2)

Nice Game! Could be a little more challenging though.

Pretty neat game, though the enemies were too slow and hard to kill. More narrow paths could have made the enemies better.

Hope that you'll also rate mine :) https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2973690

hope this is a button that can speed the waves, the coins seem unable to hold enough time for the waves, and the coin reward gaining really slow, but overall it's a decent game, good job!

fun game but I would say some parts of the game force you into full screen because some of the buttons don't show up and I feel like enemy waves are bit slow other than that fun game

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll work on fixing the fullscreen issue and speeding up the enemy waves. Glad you had fun!

yeah I think if you are using unity it might be the canvas isnt set set to scale with screen size

Submitted(+2)

the game was nice and i enjoyed it!
a better ui would have been really nice, because i couldnt find where the number of coins that i had were, and there wasnt any information on what each tower does...
other than that, i liked it!

Thank you for the feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed the game! I’ll work on improving the UI to make the coin count and tower information clearer. Your suggestions will help make the game better!

A fun game. A small sandbox would help to explain different towers.
Great work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! A small sandbox mode to explain the towers is a great idea—I’ll definitely consider adding that. Glad you enjoyed the game!

This is just my opinion, hope you take it constructively. The game feels too slow, the enemies have too much health right from the start, and walk too slowly. Could afford to spam weaker enemies first so players can gain gold and build up their defenses. The monk tower seemed like the best one, given how slow the enemies walked, while the last 50 gold tower was did not feel worth the cost. Could also give more gold per enemy defeated, then reduce the bonus gold given at the end of each wave. That way, placing towers mid wave becomes a lot more feasible. Otherwise, great work.

Developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I really appreciate your constructive points. I'll definitely look into adjusting the enemy health, speed, and gold balance to make the game more engaging. Your suggestions about weaker enemies and tower adjustments make a lot of sense. Glad you enjoyed the game overall!

This was a pretty fun game and i liked the music but you could improve the pacing of the game a bit. i liked the time this game was set in tho. i am a fan of that genre of timezone.

Developer(+2)

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the game and the music! I appreciate your feedback on the pacing—I’ll work on speeding things up a bit. Happy to hear you liked the setting and time period too!

Not bad tower defence but kinda short.. Not very dynamic with enemy waves but actualy looks decent! Definetly a great start for something bigger

Developer (1 edit) (+3)

Thanks for the feedback! I agree, it could use more dynamic waves and longer gameplay. I’m glad you liked the look of it—I'll work on expanding it into something bigger and more engaging!

Decent tower defense game, but the waves took a really long time and the clash between the psuedo-3D base and the flat, birds-eye-view 2D terrain was a bit jarring

Developer(+3)

Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate your insights on the wave length and the visual style clash. I’ll work on shortening the waves and refining the art style for better cohesion. Glad you found it decent overall!

Eight people? Sounds like that was a coordination challenge! Anyway, I really liked the game though when I saved up for the 50 cost super tower it slightly disappointed me by making me almost lose... Being an avid BTD6 enjoyer means that this game is automatically a little easy regardless. This was a fun experience, my only gripe is the enemy speed: if the enemies and towers both were twice as fast this would be a lot more enjoyable.

Developer(+3)

Thanks for the great feedback! It sounds like you have a solid background in tower defense games. I’ll definitely look into increasing enemy and tower speeds to enhance the pace. I appreciate your thoughts on the super tower too—balancing that can be tricky! Glad you enjoyed the experience overall!
