I fell in love with the cute visuals and music!
I ended up being a chill guy and dancing my way to victory at the end lol XD

Well, with this prototype of a game made in 7 days, you could ponder why certain ingredients could make an epic potion for example, and then from there, remember what items had the best synergy.
But overall, I do get your point and if I could go back in time, I would have added the synergies in the book instead of the whole recipes that can't indicate things directly at the moment.
Out of all the submissions I have tried up to now, this is the one that takes the theme literally but in the best way possible, the visuals are relatively good mostly because of the lighting, and the gameplay is also pretty fun!
I did find an exploit in the last level with the x20 shot, and I've got a feeling that you already know what I'm talking about lol
Managed to score about 33k cookies before stopping!
As a programmer(who also happens to use linux as his primary OS), I enjoyed it a lot!
It was a very innovative submission, it followed the theme perfectly by making the mistakes stressful and risky, and it was also executed perfectly.
I did encounter a bug with ssh_ls on level 2 where it showed employees/ as the correct directory to go to, but then when I tried to read that directory, it also lead me to another employees/ dir inside, and it was going like that infinitely to the point of only bringing my stress meter higher up for no reason without showing where the target file was located and eventually making me lose.
but I still loved it a lot!
A very solid submission, the atmosphere and visuals were great, it was following the theme pretty nicely, and I enjoyed it overall!
I just wish there was a point for gathering money though, the money wasn't doing anything so it was just like a score on how long one had gathered money and survived.
In my opinion, having a risk involving the time you are playing doesn't add any spice to a game in the way that it could make the player want to risk more(in this case, do more tasks).
You did a great job, keep it up! I also hope your artist gets better soon!
As someone who enjoys platformer game parkour challenges, the platforming was pretty responsive and addictive for me and I loved that a lot!
It was also fitting the theme pretty well since the more power ups you would get, the more it felt like you were flying up, but the trickier the platforming was getting, since the camera wouldn't go downwards and you had the risk of a platform going out of bounds for you to land on.
I have never been THIS addicted to a clicking game.
I was going so far to the point my wrist was screaming "STOP" lol, but it just made me keep going!
It gets some deserved high points in most criterias for me!
But on the Theme criteria...I just feel like the only thing I was really risking here was the risk of losing my hand XD so it's a bit lower, other than that, with the games I have tried up to know, this is the winner of the jam in my eyes so far
I don't know why but after losing a round, when the game tells me to click the quit button and try again, after i click it, the number button game doesn't reset and the play button doesn't work, so considering that a game breaking bug, I'm not gonna rate the game since I couldn't experience the whole thing as intended.
I liked the game!
A pretty simple and nice game to try.
It just doesn't fit completely into the theme for me though, and that's because the only thing the player can do is stacking things up and the risk is that they might lose, but that's literally any game that someone could play and lose in the process of scoring higher points in it.
But overall, the mechanic of the game was very fun and I enjoyed it!
A beautifully designed game for sure.
The visuals in the game were highly detailed and I like that a lot!
But I wish instead of focusing this much on the visuals, you could work more on the main game mechanic and make it more balanced...
There were no indications that the news effects the items in the current day or the day after so I had to discover that myself at first, there are so many items to trade but so few news each day to the point that there were times when the item effected by the news wasn't even in the shop, so it's hard to gather money before the event happens, and when the time of the event comes at the 10th day, I'm barely holding on to the -50 for each day and there comes an illness that takes -500 bucks out of me, making my loss at the next day 100% guaranteed.
I did enjoy the visuals so much though, the TV static effect and the overall reactive UI were really cool!
I enjoyed the game a lot!
It was polished pretty well for a game made in a week, and I finished the game until the very end.
If you ever want to continue its development after the jam, I would recommend adding a grid pattern for placing the stations, the ability to remove a station but at the cost of not getting any of the money(sweets) you spent to buy it back, having the stations be upgraded instead of more cats, and maybe have the player a bit more involved with everything so it's not putting something down and just waiting for it to help you reach a milestone to do something else...
overall, I gave relatively high ratings in all criterias since it's pretty well done!
Great concept and great use of the theme!
I just wish the RNG of the game was a little bit more balanced and the starting chips were a bit higher to kick-start the whole thing.
On each run I went through, I had to use most of my chips at the very beginning just to be able to land a hit with an accuracy high enough to look forward to...
I also liked the art style as well!
This is a gem!
I absolutely LOVED the art and the boiling technique used to make it seem more alive, I also enjoyed the story telling a lot in this game!
I just feel like using the theme as a story concept/narrative isn't the best innovative use of it in my opinion, that is the only downside for me, other than that, 100% worth my time!
