I'm so happy this game ranked in the top 10! It was my favorite of all the games and deserves more! Looking forward to your next game <3
thank you so much that's so sweet. i'm really happy with the result. congrats on your game as well it was a really lovely experience and i'm still not over the animation <3
I'm pretty happy with getting 11th in graphics and 18th in audio. 42 total out of 1500 is not bad either given that this is my second game ever and the first was made only a week or so prior for the GMTK jam, where i ranked 6433 :D
damn thats a huge improvement in such a small time span. and placing 11th in graphics is massive given how competitive the category was. you should totally be proud of what you've made.
this was my first jam and i joined half way so i'm extremely giddy over 9th. normally i'm anxious about putting myself out there like this but im really thankful i pushed through that. plus with the kinda unorthodox nature of my project it feels so great to get the affirmation i'm doing something right :p
do you have any plans for your next jam? i think i'm gonna take a few weeks to chill before i look at doing another lmao
Oh wow! Joined halfway and it feels and looks so complete and polished. Doesn't have a jam game vibe at all. I can assure you that you're doing many things right. I'm glad pushing through your anxiety payed off for you (I struggle with that myself).
Having done 2 jams in a row, I need a break for sure. And I need to catch up on "work" for a while. (work is in quotes cause i'm a comic book artist and painter, so all my work is really play lol) Although I think I'm now addicted to jams and really just want to keep goin to the next one.
Anyway, congrats and good luck with all. Looking forward to your next game. Give me a follow back if you're interested in seeing what my future jam plans are :D
Very interesting atmosphere. It reminds me of Deckard's Photo Inspector computer from Blade Runner. It is strange how much information can be deciphered from a few pixels. Although for the first time, instead of the stretching cat, I saw a yautja wristblade.
I'm glad to have experienced this.
idk if the sound designer will see this, but when I first heard the music, I thought I turned on the music on my PC by accident, because the first note was EXACTLY THE SAME as a [very well known breakcore artist that talks about similar topics]. I was almost expecting an amen break to suddenly break me on the climax go we ball now.
And to add more serendipity to the stew… the background was the exact same colour as my wallpaper on my PC. It made me feel, legit, that it was playing with me or something.
To probably add more to the kinda person I am… sometimes I felt like the stories were direct references to events I lived through. Therefore I think this kinda game is like a dagger to a very specific audience, but it’s going to fall flat on a looooooot of people.
The oooooone thing I really feel like that needs a bit more balance is how text is presented. I go through it super quick, but it typed out slow for me. Sometimes I feel like there has to be a better way to tell a story than just text or a figment of pictures from a stormy past. Pacing is the key to the game.
Seriously, add some breakcore beats at the end and you seal the deal.
Wow, that's a very unique visual style! There's a heavy atmosphere throughout the game. I can't say I fully understood everything, but it was interesting to hear this person's story, nicely segmented with the pictures. If there's anything to criticize, I would've liked a thicker scroll bar on the phone.
This was very cool! I liked the colors denoting specific people, and how "we" was often multicolored depending on who was involved. Super clever!
Cool narrative!
Your game managed to capture the attention of a person who is not at all used to playing this narrative style. I think I have gained a new interest now, I would love to know more about these eerie atmospheric games. Great vibe, great music, interesting intimate story
woooah!! this was awesome! now I'm not much of a visual novel person so it wasn't really my definition of "fun," but it was very much amazing. the atmosphere was also great, i don't really have any issues with this game
Amazing game with cool atmosphere. I really enjoyed playing this game.
Wow, I'm really blown away by the quality of the experience! The visuals, the music, the atmosphere, everything is simply amazing.
It is a crime that this game only has 10 ratings so far. You have a real talent, this was such a personal experience and I thought it was beautiful. Thank you for making this :)
haha thank you, made it to 20 eventually! really appreciate your words.
I adore the visual aesthetic of this game and the score by Mel. I think having fewer photos and focusing in on each photo's story to go into something else would've made the story feel a bit smoother and less overwhelming, and just give you more to do in the game. But overall the writing is actually solid and not cringey which is a huge risk with this kind of game. Good work!
mel's tracks are so pretty i'm really pleased with how the atmosphere turned out. i'm actually already planning on adding to the stories of each photo after the voting period has finished. would you mind clarifying what you mean about it going into something else? also i'm glad you didn't find the writing cringey lmao. thank you the feedback!
I'm not sure exactly lol. I mean maybe branching options from a smaller pool, some way to interact with each memory. Like when you select one, it goes into another folder and you explore that pool and then jump back out.
I would need to play again to see if I missed some things (probably) but it'd be cool to give some more obvious tie-ins to Antigone's various myths.
Love the witty dialogue. It was definitely an experience for me!
thank you! the writing is defs my fav part of this project
Phenomenal work! You’ve really outdone yourself with this one. The game feels fresh, exciting, and incredibly well-crafted. Amazing job!
This was super interesting definetly one of my favourite entries so far. I loved the art style
thank you :)
Wow. I feel like I just played something deeply personal and raw. The picture with "I see god in spaces like this" was such a crazy line. This hit hard. Thank you for the cat image!
haha always happy to have a chance to show off my cat. i was really happy with the writing in this project so its great to hear it hit for you. thanks for playing!
Love the purple palette and overall pixelated aesthetic, narrative wise feels very personal. I can tell there's a lot of heart being put into this small project
thank you, glad you enjoyed it :)
Love the art style and sound, nice work!
thanks, same for you! the visuals and especially enemy design in seven hours are awesome.
