Hey! Played and rated yours! Here is ours! A logic puzzle game about matching alien species to their best home world. https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4304989
Loved the 3D models in the games. The enemies have a really well done creepy design. It would've been extra nice to have a bit more animation for the enemy walk cycles and attacks but I totally get the time constraint given all the detail otherwise. I also think it would be cool to have some incentive to utilize more of the arena, perhaps with necessary pickups or upgrades scattered around. Overall nice job!!
Cool game! I really like the idea of a tower defense deck building game and had a fun time playing. It took a few immediately lost attempts to figure out the mechanics of the game so I think a tutorial would definitely help. Once I got the hang of it though it was really smooth for the first three levels. I do think the balance may be a bit off because it seems to ramp up a bit faster than you can reliably get enough units on the field, but maybe I was just unlucky! Nice job :)
Really cool concept with a fun loop. I liked how once I learned what I was looking for my mind quickly tried to develop strategies to remember everything. I also love the extra work you put into the story of the ritual. I think it could be nice to have some summary at the end of a run saying what or how many you got wrong because the sky color for example is a bit hard to discern (I thought it was brown and then that wasn't a choice).
This is my favorite game I have played this whole jam (I have played 75 games so far). I love this so much and played until I am pretty sure I have every character/word used in the game. If I had to give you one huge piece of feedback is that at some point fairly early into the game I realized that the planets are in order in the dictionary for every word based species, which means after 3 test tries for confirmation I was able to fill them all in and didn't have a mistake with any of those creatures for the rest of the game. HOWEVER the concept was so fun, I just kept playing to figure out all of the ancillary words that aren't actually necessary for getting the tasks correct. I also LOVED how you used phonetic overlaps to make some of the alphabets like d/t and (as a studier of Finnish) I especially appreciated what I believe I found was a p/v overlap. Such a wonderful entry, I wish this had more plays. Great art too!
Really like the visuals and audio on this game! It was fun to try to rack up a higher and higher score. My main critique would be that you can spam x without a cool down, which allows you to just run forward into enemies and delete them all. So I would recommend adding a short reset time to the attack so the player is forced to kite a bit. Nice job though!
Cool idea and fun game! I think it would be even creepier and suspenseful if the environment was much tighter and the house smaller just to feel a bit more claustrophobic. I think the game could also be expanded quite well by making the parents have additional threats to you when you are awake that require different distractions
