How does your game fit the theme?
You need to navigate in a maze. What do you will discover behind the next door? Enemies? Or the treasure you're looking for?

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes. I even use my own game engine!

Such a well put together game was so easy to just start playing. The sounds and art style go great together great

I liked it a lot, and it was easy to understand exactly what i was supposed to do.  I did not know there was a "thanks for playing" room until i read the other comments though, and just thought the game looped infinity.

I loved the artstyle! I managed to reach a "thanks for playing" room, I had a lot of fun! But I think the game starts getting a bit repetitive when you have a lot of stats.

Overall, nice work! Congratulations

I really like the style of the game. The pixel art is really cute!

I was truggle about how to play on the first 3 minutes :) but I figured that out. Adding more controls to the character like moving around, flee from combat would make the game better I think :)

Dot art is awesome! A site page is cute and understandable! Screen transition effect is cool!

Thanks to the doors, I don't have to memorize the map and the tempo is awesome to skip the movement!

I enjoyed it and lost track of time!

What a lovely cozy dungeon crawler! I enjoyed this quite a bit. I enjoyed the Zelda like graphics combined with rpg turn based battles, I'd totally be interested in a whole big world with this style of graphics and gameplay. I wasn't sure door was going to be selected when I pressed an arrow key. I guess I'm cycling through the available doors? Other than that, I loved everything!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. FYI, the selection is clockwise. I feel that users struggle on that. I'll think more about it for my next game :)

Great visual! An interesting replayable game! I would love to play this in one of the arcade machines!

Very pretty game!

Love the graphics and feeling of the game! The overall mechanic is really good and well implemented.

Also: Your own Engine?! You rock!

Nice game. Great work. Loved the look and design. I did find the controls a little weird. I kinda wish the arrows would jump right to the door in that direction instead of always looping through them. And The "boop" sound was intense without any other music or ambient sound.

Overall though, great work. Really cool game.

thank for your feedback. I wasn't sure on how to select the right items. I tried to do the same system of the last game I played. (Super Mario RPG).

Very nicely polished game! Looks great, plays smoothly, and has easy to understand mechanics.

The only issue I ran into was understanding which arrow key was going to high light which door ๐Ÿ˜…

Great work!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback. Actually, the selection is in a clockwise. (same for enemies). I always struggle to find a good way to pick the right items. If you have any lecture on such things... I'm interested! ๐Ÿ˜‚

No lectures I could think of to link you. It was just a kind of intuitive thing I guess.

I went back and replayed it just to mess with the cursor, and to give a better understanding of what I was expecting vs what was happening. Thanks for the explanation of the clockwork directions. That makes sense and is easy to understand in a scenario picture above.

What I was expecting was something more along the lines of the cursor moves in the direction I press (if there's something in that direction). For example, if I press the Right arrow key, it'd highlight the right door. Then if I pressed Left if would jump all the way across to highlight the left door.

I think generally, I was expecting the cursor to move in the direction of the arrow key I press, and highlight the object in that direction, if any, That's just my initial opinion, and the clockwise thing makes sense too once I know about it. I wouldn't make any changes based on just my thoughts alone, but that's my 2 cents. Hope it helps.  ๐Ÿ˜Š

Loved to play your game!

I got really hyped when i came to the "thanks for playing" room :)

Wanted to open them all!

Wow even your own game engine!

Well done!

A very interesting game.  Impressive that you made the artwork (excellent job there) and your own game engine!  Sound effects were good, but some music would have been nice.  Still a highly polished entry.  Game play is unique, but easy to get in to.  A map would have been great to have.

5 stars.

Thanks. I actually though about a map.
The issue is that the maze is random. I was affraid to running out of time by implementing a constraint system so the position of the rooms are logical.

I love this game so much! The art and color are pretty cute. The game design is a little bit cliche but it is still fun to play. I love to try many times to see the progression of the character's stats while fighting cute monsters. The fact that you use your engine is even more impressive.
