Game's take on the theme
I implemented the theme of exchanging energy, which you gain through hard efforts, to use your special skills. As for the marker, you can exchange positions, which is also significant mechanic of the game that matches the theme.

Graphics looks nice. It has the general Castlevania vibe. I like the presentation as well. The Soulsborne style boss healthbar, the level title etc. The asset for the player character is very overused though, i saw it in a few games including mine in this jam.
You added some good mechanics like reflecting projectiles but it's hard to use it agains the bosses. I couldn't beat the first boss bcs it was too difficult. I tried at least 5 times. It has a very large healthpool and can kill you in two shots.

Cool game, bomb style, pleasant controls. Cool boss attacks, but I couldn't get through the first floor in 5-7 attempts, maybe I need to practice more)

looks amazing, with a lot of juice, effects and kinda satisfying sounds.
however, playing was a challenge for me reasons.
I use left hand mouse which means that if the game has only ASWD+space for movement I need to switch the mouse to the opposite side and do a constant mental workaround to have minimal reflexes and can't play long. Adding IJKL+space is perhaps a good solution that would have worked for me ...
found out there is controller controls which is awesome ... but, controller controls have no jump or attack ...
I really wanted to be able to kill the boss but sadly at least now its pretty intense ... very beautiful bloom effects you have there though =)
Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad you liked the visuals and effects. I understand playing was tough for you with a left-hand mouse. I'll add controls for left-handed players. Also, for the controller, I myself have no controller so I'm surprised that it has movement for the controller. Thanks for letting me know.
I was surprised as well, touched the controller accidentally and noticed some movement, controller support would be amazing

Camera and nearly all the borrowed assets are the only and really dissapointing downsides of this project( Use of theme is cool with the little teleport homer you can place.
Thanks for your feedback! I fixed the camera issue, and I'll update the game after the jam. I'm not great at pixel art yet, so I used online stuff for this prototype due to time limits. I'm happy you liked the teleport!
From the main menu the game gives a sense of polish that maintains the whole playthrough. Loved the design and animation of the boss, and the strength of the impacts on the combat. I didn't really feel the exchange time. Great game overall, good luck!

Super smooth feeling character control + good game juice -- I spent extra time playing this one just because the controls felt so good. Delay on the left-click slash made it tricky to deflect projectiles -- I think either removing the windup delay or making it trigger on mouseup would make the deflection much better. A double jump could be fun to play with too. One of my favorites so far, nice work :)

Graphics are fantastic, SFX are nicely implemented as well, I would like to echo what everyone else said about the camera and movement but other than that this game is fun to play.

Really good job with the game. The work with the lights in the attacks is specially well made. I feel like the character could benefit from having variable jump height, so you could do shorter jumps by releasing the key sooner. Overall, the game feels really complete, the VFX are nice, the sound goes well with the game and it's entertaining. Good game!

really cool game! controlling the character felt a bit jarring at first, youre pretty slidy and jump very high, but it feels satisfying to get used to it! but as other people are saying, i think the camera should be a bit more zoomed out.
i really like the bosses! my only issue is the attacks that come from the ceiling on the first and third boss, theres just not enough time to react and get away from one that spawns above you, but other than that, learning the attacks felt really good!
the sound effects and art also made the game feel super good to play, great job!

The aesthetics and music are the biggest strengths of this game, It kind of reminded me of Chakan: The Forever Man (Odd comparison, I know) with that said, I think the movement speed and camera work against the player, also I don't know if it's a bug or not, but sometimes when the first boss breathes fire, he instantly continuously damages you as if there were no recovery frames, that's what mostly, unfortunately, killed it for me, otherwise this is a cool idea for a game, I'm a fan of gothic horror-themed games of this nature. Good job!

I have to agree with Lampazzu about the camera! it's really hard to keep up with and sadly ruined the game for me :/ Otherwise it's really well put together and with just some tweaks it will be amazing :)
