How did you/your team interpret the theme?
The goal of the game is to brew as many evil potions as possible. The idea was that those are used to give the wrongdoes a fighting chance against the heroes.
How was your/your team's experience in this jam?
We had a lot of fun. Especially making the assets went very well.

Neat concept. Pixel art looks pretty great, love all the little animations. Music fits the theme well.
I do wish that there was more done other than the normal match-three puzzle. The condition for losing also isn't mentioned anywhere, so I was confused when I lost.
Overall, pretty good game, just needs some minor polish.
Cool and simple game! Everything I had to do was very clear..
When you'll have time, please give a look to our submission ;)
Fun game - I liked the UI for the potion ingredients I thought it made it very clear!
The graphics are really sharp and clear looking ^-^ Love the animations! Great job!
I love the pixel art and the animations, especially the frog made me laugh :D The sounds and the music were a great choice too, they give the game that mystical atmosphere every potion brewer needs! Overall you did a great job, thanks for sharing your game :)
As someone married to a colorblind person, I *love* that this match three game uses so many unique shapes to differentiate between pieces! That said, 4 of the pieces use similar red/pink palettes which can still make it hard to distinguish at a glance. ^^;
I love all the little animations on the different selected pieces, especially those hilarious derpy frogs that keel over! Bless them.
(I played way more of this than I should have)
Very good game idea, the game is nice and the gameplay is good and easy to understand!
great animation and pixel art.
nice game.
The frog animation is hilarious! I enjoyed the game.
One area I was a bit unsure of was when to expect the game to end. I did reach the end screen after a few potions, but it wasn't explicitly obvious how much time or how many moves I had left (unless it should have been obvious and I just missed it). Just a quick text stating "go until no moves are possible" would fix that.
Nice match-three and great Halloweenie theme! Would love to see the additions discussed below.
Yeah, we are for sure missing some explanation there. Thank you for playing and giving feedback!
That's a crazy art style there. Matching games are always fun. Good job
I really enjoyed the ingredient animations. The frog and the eye were my favourite. I've always enjoyed match-3 games, so I spent a good 10-15 minutes making matches and completing recipes.
I think to really add immersion, the ingredients should play a unique sound effect when a match is made. For example, if 3 frogs are matched together, maybe I would hear a ribbit. I think that small change would help complete the experience.
I also think an additional challenge should be introduced to keep the game from lasting too long. I wanted to see the end screen, so eventually I stopped completing recipes and actively tried swapping ingredients into unfavourable positions to end the game. But it wouldn't let me lose.
I definitely agree with @jocolloman, it would be great to see your team continue to add more mechanics and something to spend my gold on!
If we add some additional game mechanics (like pay for a switch) we could add another item kind. That should make the game harder. Thanks for the idea to add effects on matching, that would be nice!
Fantastic pixel art! The game play is solid and I didn't experience any issues. The music is decent and the sound effects are good. I played for quite some time and found it enjoyable. I'd love to see this game expanded to add more mechanics such as power ups / using the gold you get / different types of potions. Nice job!
Thank you for playing and the feedback! One idea we had, but simply lacked the time to implement, was to be able to switch any two items across the board for some money. The main goal should be more potions and the money a means to an end.
This is solid matching tile game! I really liked the Brewing and ingredient animations. I didn't play for super long, as I am low on time, but what I did play worked well, and I didn't encounter any issues with Game play, finished a number of potions, and overall liked what I saw.
