Love the physics and the sound. The game is a really nice take on SMB2 (game of the year btw) and all the mechanics were implemented really well.

I think the level design is a bit unfocused tho and there are a touch too many enemies but aside from that it's really good.

Great job.

Wow A+++ on the graphics/animations, I love biggie so much!! Also, I just realized this game jam needs a lot more Super Mario Bros 2 type games! what are we doing people?!?

Great Job!

this game is an expression of joy

Developer

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is exactly what I was going for :) I just loved making it and I just wanted people to love playing it!

Submitted(+1)

This game is lots of fun!

Developer

Thank you for playing! It makes me happy to know you enjoyed it :)

This felt super polished, the style was sick! As others have mentioned, the controls felt really tight. There's not really anything I can complain about, just a solid platformer!

Developer

Thank you for th kind words! I had fun making it :)

i died a lot to the slimes but thats because it was actually my little brother playing

The platforming felt really good in this game, and the art is really cute and funny. I also liked the addition of 3d elements  for extra flavor.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! This was my first time dabbling with 3D, so I eased myself into it.

Something tells me Dunkey's gonna give this one "game of the year".

Platforming was tight, art was cute, and I loved the use of 3D in the backgrounds. Solid, well-made game. My one feedback would be to make the pie boss blueberry next time, as that is the superior flavor.

Great work. Also, +1 for also going with a la mode interpretation.

Developer(+1)

Great minds think alike! A La Mode was the way to go!

Haha nice job, fun take on SMB2, loved the Pie boss! Great visual presentation and overall awesome work.

Thank you so much! Red Snow was amazing!

Great character design, I can appreciate that everything trying to kill me in this world has their own lives and worries to be concerned but still come to work with a huge smile on their face.

Developer

killing you with cuteness 🤪

Some of the best platforming controls I've played so far, I love the feeling of the platforming, figuring out how to go from level to level, and how fast you can zip beween the launch pipes.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! I was worried about the controls, because I decided to make this game entirely physics based (no precise kinematic controls for the player). I feel like it turned out well, but I had to do some extra force calculations to keep the controls precise.

Developer

Holy cow! Thank you all for playing and rating my game. This jam has been such a positive experience all around. Can’t say enough kind words for everyone involved!

Man, this SMB2 (Superior Melon Bias 2, also known as Oki Doki Panic in Japan) Rom hack is fire. I have no idea how you got everything to work on an online emulator for the NES, but what ever you did, it must be ground breaking!

Okay, jokes aside, this is a pretty nice SMB2 style game. The game gets the feel of playing SMB2 just right, while adding its own mix to make it worth playing. My only complaint is that the enemies aren't Shy Guy's, and even though I know you can't legally put them in, I still have to rate this game 0/10.

Okay, but really, this is an 8.75/10. Would have been higher if I actually liked the OG SMB2.

Developer

Tough but fair! Thank you for playing :)

I was really enjoying the 2.5d style but unfortunately the game bugged when I died while entering a pipe.

Developer

Bugs! We got em!

I really like the mashup with 2D and 3D assets, I feel like they really blend together! I think the movement could be a little tighter and it could use more checkpoints. But overall, super charming and colorful game!

Developer

I’ve never done a 3D game before, so I figured I’d dip my toe in the water by mixing 2D and 3D. I’m glad you liked the results :)

GAME OF THE YEAR
I love the little secrets throughout and the overall aesthetic. The levels are a little crowded with enemies, but other than that it's a blast to play! I think some players may get stuck on the pipe section, not realizing they need to run to increase their air speed.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words :) I’ve seen a few players forget the run button even exists, so you are spot on with your comment.

This is a great take on the classic formula of known master piece supa mario brodders 2. Wonderfully done, lots of fun to play!

this is so cute!!!!! i love being able to carry enemies around, and i especially love the art style!! i also really like how you can take multiple different paths to get through the world, it's super fun to explore. great job!

Developer

Thank you for kind words! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Great presentation and fun to play. Funny reference to DDP/SMB2, but didn't use the mode theme except for the pie gag.

Developer(+1)

Glad you got the DDP/SMB2 reference :) It’s funny, I started building the game with the Pie A La Mode in mind (picking up and throwing the ice cream back at the boss), and that idea morphed into the whole SMB2 mechanic.

The artstyle is very beautiful and whats impressive about it is that the world is 3D i guess? i loved it, it was a very fun experience and the transition are smooth bewteen the (themes/levels) Good job!

Developer

So glad you enjoyed it! The world is indeed 3D. I toyed with the idea of a freelook camera, but it didn’t really work with the 2D style levels.
