Wow the polish and the presentation of this game is amazing and inspiring. Shooting goblins with guns is something I've never actually seen before but it was super satisfying, I would love to play a full game about invading goblin bases, dashing around, and mowing them down, it was delightful.

The goblin models were especially awesome, and I loved to see the flying goblins fall down after you kill them, that's a great payoff. I want to study and learn from this game especially its slick presentation, it's so tightly crafted.

Loved the game, probably will play it more on my free time later. Sucks that i can't turn on full screen in browser.

This is the most polished 3d game I've seen all jam!  Kudos to your art team for a really well polished arena and enemies.  I also especially liked the clean and readable UI with clear descriptions of which buttons performed which actions.

The gameplay itself was pretty hectic, I liked the variety of weapons and the mode shifting was pretty cool in how it changed the enemy behavior as well as the ways that you could move around the map.  I especially liked some of the weapons like the infinite piercing sniper or the super rapid fire gattling.

I did feel like it would have been nice to be able to have a less sensitive mouse as I did find myself turning a bit too fast to make precision shots and also I never found a way to fully dodge all the projectiles coming my way.

Having reminders for what modes were active and how long they would remain active for on the lefthand side was a really nice touch to give the player active info on what was happening and how soon it would end.

My highest score was 968 with LV 7.  Wonderful entry!

This is a lot of fun! I like how the "cloud goblins" force interaction with verticality; they give you a reason to look up.

Like the visuals on this game!

This was fantastic, felt really polished for a jam game! Movement and controls felt great and I like the gimmick of the randomly shifting modes. I feel like the balancing could use a little work though, I spent a majority of my time running from the normal goblins and shooting down the flying ones because of how much more threatening they felt. Also it's a minor nitpick, but the sound effect for being alerted of the current modes makes it misleadingly sound like there's a countdown before the start of the round. First couple rounds I played I had an 'oh shit' moment of realizing the goblins were already on top of me when I thought I was waiting for the round to start haha

Awesome job. I'd definitely add an X over the ones you turn off. Wasn't until I died the second time that I realized I was eliminating the modes I actually wanted. Also a way to turn the modes back on so I can change my mind if I want. The goblins had sooooooooooooo much health to. Lord almighty. But the concept is great. The controls were tight. Thank you for putting in sensitivity controls so I could actually play! The goblins are funny and the mech is cool af. Over all sweet af.

I really like the presentation and the shoosting, but I found it to be quite difficult. I think maybe the enemies spawn in a lot faster than I was ready for and I spent a lot of time walking backwards into stuff.

Great game. It feels really polished and you guys definitely know what you were doing!
I only ever banned goblin modes and maybe a few weapons. I also only walked backwards and shot at the goblins; I think having something to walk towards like health/xp pick-ups would be a great way to guide the player where to go and make them look forwards from time to time. A "berserk mode" or something where you become invincible or get a big Aoe melee attack would also be a great way to make the player walk towards, instead of away of the goblins.
Presentation is top notch, originality is top notch, it is pretty fun and you definitely have mode in your game: Congrats!

Pretty impressive for a jam game but the game didn't scale in full screen in browser so I was stuck with the game being tiny on my monitor.

Ok, now that I've downloaded the game and thus properly experienced it, I feel like it's time for me to address my issues with the game. The biggest is with the way eliminating undesired modes works. This is a smart concept in theory, but due to the execution it becomes less of an avenue of player expression and more of a "you win the game" hack. This is because there is absolutely no reason not to eliminate 3 goblin modes so that all that remains is either ordinary of frail. The different goblin modes are simply too powerful to deal with, and the none of the other modes are that bad. I feel like if the game forced the player to disable one of each category and the goblin modes were a bit more reasonable things would be a bit more interesting. the only other real issue was that I found the flying goblins to be so much more of a threat that I pretty much exclusively focused on attacking them. Other than those two things, this is a great submission and the whole team should be proud.

Developer

That is a very fair criticism!

There are several things to address this that wasn't added in time, such as roguelike-upgrades that favor only several modes, making Gun / Movement eliminations more valuable.

As of the submission of the jam, the only disadvantage of choosing Frail / Ordinary is a (invisible) lower score multiplier of 0.8x as opposed to the other's 1.2x score multiplier, so you'd be right in your assessment to believe that that is the best way to survive the longest, ignoring the scores. I wanted to put EXP modifiers as well (Picking frail goblins will give you lower EXP, so you can get outscaled rather quickly), but decided against it last second as there wasn't time to playtest the values, and people weren't picking up on "more kills = more levels" to keep up with the goblins' strength and just run around anyways.

Thank you for playing!

Great adaptation of the theme, really unique, and awesome polish!

If I had a critique to give, it'd be that I spent most of my time running backwards while whittling down the horde. It would be cool to have an incentive to go towards the enemies.

Gatling go BRRRRRRRRRRR

Got my heart pumping! Found myself running away most of the time but somehow I kept pulling through! That's good balancing.

Really fun gameplay loop, and very punishing. The animation and models are also excellent, the whole thing feels super polished.

Love the way the modes are handled, and how each run is different. Great work!

Excellent presentation, really hard game! I had some trouble with mouse sensitivity, but the game hit me like a truck the first time I opened it. the mech frame is really well done and animated, the weapons, articles, music, sound design... wow. great great work.

This game was really cool! I enjoyed playing it. I thought the music was well done and I liked the art of the game! I'd say the one thing that bothered me was the kickback on the guns drove me crazy, but maybe that's because I play hours and hours of FPS games. Great game, full marks from me!

Really cool concept but unfortunately my laptop can't run it very well. I tried both web and desktop versions but neither ran smoothly for me. Visually it looks great though and giving me the choice to remove modes upfront is a nice decision.  Overall,  pretty cool game!

Submitted(+3)

Good concept, great visuals. The mouse sensitivity was too high for me and I couldn't hit anything so I was terrible at this.

Developer

We're really sorry for that! There are options to change sensitivity by pressing [ESC], but assuming that you were playing in browser, we have noted that some browsers still has too high of a mouse sensitivity - we will keep this in mind!

Submitted(+3)

Loved the game and the options to remove any 3 undesired modifiers at the start of the round were nice as it gave the player some sort of control. The movement required getting used to, but overall a damn well polished game.

Submitted(+2)

Well, I kept rotating right after initializing. Refreshed and tried again and unless I was flicking my mouse left, my view was spinning to the right. Tried to play regardless and it was impossible. Really looks impressive and the music is cool, especially in the short time available to make it, but yeah I couldn't truly experience it.

Developer(+1)

Hi, we're really sorry for this! Are you on the web build? If so, we've noticed that this happens on some browsers and as such I'd really recommend downloading it instead.

Thank you for the still kind comment!
