From what I understand, this game was made in two days, so is understandable that it has many design issues.

Pros: 

  • Art and animation are pretty good.

Cons:

  • Camera is too far so every detail of the art is hard to see
  • Attack range is to short, attacking enemies guaranties that you will get hit too.
  • Colliders for enemies are weird, some of them hit you without touching you visually.
  • Spikes are not insta-kill, and there is no way of getting back from pits, so you will always have to wait for 3 hits to die.
  • Character is spawned from the sky, so if i was pressing movement keys, sometime it would result in me falling again in the pit.
  • The hint for hidden platforms is weird because if you fall directly over the heart, which is supposed to be your hint, you fall because the platforms are actually to the sides, forcing the player to guess where the platforms are (and it combines with the spike issue).
  • The bridge has a place where no longer collides with you, so it forces you to guess where the real platform is with no visual hint (and again, it combines with the spike issue)

Keep at it! It already looks good, it just need more time to work on the rest of the points. Good luck!

for two days you did quite a lot, very nice! not sure if this was what you were going for, but it had that classic rage/troll platformer game with invisible platforms (very much like I Wanna Be the Guy or Cat Mario). the close checkpoints though made it mostly negligible and made for a rather nice trial and error experience. the movement feels pretty nice to run around with, feels responsive and has a nice weight/gravity to it! i would have liked to see where you wanted to go with the combat system though, that sounds exciting! the visuals also are pretty neat too, giving off a nice pixel snes game feel!

again, working this much in that short of time is impressive, i had a lot of fun with it, great work!

The bridge without collision drained all the fun out of it. And if I fall into a pit of spikes that I can't get out of, I would really like to respawn immediately and not run around for a few swconds taking damage until I finally die.  The respawn shouldn't be so high up in the air as I was constantly falling back into the pit because I didn't react fast enough and didn't stop pushing buttons.  Loved the visuals.

I had a lot of fun playing that! I don't play a lot of platformers so it took me a bit to complete the level, and the traps really got me. Would love to have some audio behind it.

The game is really nice, but there a lot of issues. Here is my feedback:

When the platform looks like it should hold you and you fall off should at least not be located in level 1;

I really love the invisible platforms, but when you take damage you need to know how many life's you have left;

I had some issues with the graphics, zoom in on the screen more so you can see yourself better. Background needs to fill the entire level, and there needs to be a bigger jump buffer.

Overall I had a good time playing and really loved how it works, just needs more time...

the game is really nice and i like the visuals but the problem for me is it was very zoomed out and i have very short sight so it was kind of difficult for me to play the game but it was fun

I really like the art style you went for, the only thing I would improve is the movement keys, I think it would be more comfortable to move with W, A, S, D But other than that it's awesome!!

Sorry but... I didn't like the game :<

First, the controls. Jump with spacebar, move with arrows, and attack with mouse. I have only 2 hands, so I can only do 2 at the time. There were a lot of bugs, unfortunately. just before the boss there is missing collision. So even though it looks like a platform, it drops mw into the spikes every single time.

Maybe with more polish I'd like it more. Don't be discouraged! What you managed to do in just 2 days is a lot.

Hey, good job making this game! The graphics are cute, but I think the controls need some work. For some reason attacking with A wouldn't work for me, I could only attack by clicking but jumping with space while moving with the arrows leaves no hand available for the mouse, hahaha. I was also falling through the floor on that last bridge there, I'm assuming it's a bug? Other mechanics need some work too, we can't control the height of the jump (but it wasn't an issue on this demo) and running and jumping off of edges feels rough, but if you did this in 2 days I think this is all pretty well executed! Thanks for making the game!

decent platformer. The combat needs work i couldn't finish an enemy without taking damage, the ghost platforms and the (for lack of a better term) the hollow floor(that part at the end with ground tiles without colissions) make the game seem like one of those rage games i wanna be the guy style but the rest of the game is telling me average platformer. I don't think those mechanics can be implemented in an average platformer without some heavy work
