What do you like about your game?
I always try to do something new with each jam. This time around I added in leaderboards (2 leaderboards for 2 endings), a tetris style inventory system and a dialog system. And I'm continuing to try to get better at pixel art, but it still seems programmer art -ish lol.

This is really cool! It reminded me a lot of Dredge, but also had the top-down shooter part, giving it a more original flair.
The controls were smooth, and the visual effects were nice. The sound design was solid throughout.
I think the lowlight of this game is the inconsistency of the sprites used at different parts of the game. It felt like there were a handful of styles being mixed. (As somebody with no art skills, I do not take lightly that it is quite difficult to make a game look good.)
Overall though, this has been one of my favorite games of the jam. Nice work :)
A very strange game. I loved it!
The minimal art style was nice, helped with the chill fishing vibe :D
This is awesome. I always wanted to make a fishing game as well and you managed to put everything into it: a story and good atmosphere, satisfying mechanics and great visual style and audio. All round amazing!
Hi, I really like the mood of the game, and the art style is just fantastic in my opinion. I had a weird bug tho. When I said I was finished fishing, the game gave me game over as it said I didn't have a single fish with me, when I catched a big round plumpy fatty squishy fish 10 seconds earlier :((( . It didn't ruin my experience at all tho, so I still enjoyed it a lot. Again, the art is truly impressive as well as very "moody". Very good game, I'd love to see it extended further more after this jam ends.
Good luck fellow jammer! <3333
Thanks for checking the game out! Sorry that there was a bug. I'll go check that out now. If its any consolation, the other fish turn-in endings are all basically the same. The other ending happens if you catch the red fish, you get a different option at the end of the game.
I like how minimalistic this is, with no clutter. It goes straight to its basic mechanics without hassle, and I think they are already quite complex por su a simple game (fishing, world travel, inventory management).
I found interesting that you used growing-and-disappearing squares to make the player feel that he's walking over water. It's such a small but meaningful detail... Also, onces the rod is being used, suddenly drawing the vertical depth was also a very comic-like way to resolve it; quite cool! Another detail I appreciated was to realise that fish had a given size, as you don't know this until the inventory shows up.
It is a chill, cozy, small game to get relaxed. The minigame with the rod combines sound with action, which multiplies the feeling of the actions. The deeper you go, the more you hear the thread going. Every time you try to catch it, the more clicks you listen. This might sound trivial but, as they taught me once, games must have sound or they render into lifeless moving images.
I love the simple pixel art style you went for, the outlines are just great sometimes!
It was fun trying to fit all the fishes together :) There are a lot of them I see.
Alright, so:
1- The fishing system is really satisfying, a two part system consisting in moving the hook to get the fish you actually want and then fighting with the fish to get him out, I love it!
2- I really like every single sprite in your game haha. Every fish looks great and that final...creature (queen?) looks amazing, with a very cool animation
3- It's really cool that you have a leaderboard at the end. I don't know how those work but it's just great haha
4- You found a very interesting way of combining the inventory system with an interactive sort of puzzle where you have to fit everything (Again: just great job!)
*(For improvement) The only thing I can say is that the game could use some music and sound effects
Overall a great job that deserves more attention !! (5 stars in every aspect)
Thank you so much for the kind words!
For #3, I'm using playfab for the leaderboard and its not too bad to setup. They had an asset package for unity and most other popular engines.
Its good and relaxing. It would be nice if the hook moved litttle faster.
Can you play and rate mine too. Thank you.

I like the asthetic, it's a chill experience!
I also like the controls for capturing the fish, they feel simple but fresh and rewarding
Music is relaxing too :)
If i had one criticism, it's that the fish hook moves a bit too slow.
I definitely was not expecting that boss fight, that caught me off-guard :P
thats actually a nice game its very cozy, i like the art style and the dialog system, keep up the good work wish you all the luck :D
I liked the character designs and the music is very relaxing!
The fishing hook should just be a bit faster though, but it's okay since fishing is not the focus of the game. Control scheme is a little jumpy, but overall it's a cool entry for the jam! Also, congrats on practicing the pixel art, seems like most people liked it!
Comfy game ! Very nice and cute fish design.
The control scheme is a bit awkward and I wish that pressing down would accelerate the hook a biiiiiit faster !
The game is looking nice. Styx stands out as character design. It differs a lot from the "rectangle on a stick" of the stick figures.
I like the weird story, and I got the bad ending trying to figure out what happens if you give sombody a fish they don't want to. Seems like one can not say no to the oblivion juice. The game tells me this is a bad ensing, but I don't think oblivion would be so bad.
Lost track of time playing this ngl (and ended up last at the good ending leaderboard lol). And I tell you, you should be a bit more confident about your art, because you nailed one of the most important things for the most part, which is having a consistent artstyle trough your game. A bad example of that is looking at minecraft mods that add some realistic looking mobs while letting the rest of the game stay the same, and that creates a lot of contrast.
Thanks for checking the game out. I really appreciate the vote of confidence for the pixel art. :)
And don't feel bad about the score. I'm 2nd and 3rd(testing how playfab works on firefox and chrome) and the 1st place is a friend of mine that I showed the game to yesterday and he started trying to speed run it. So you're the only other person to actually beat the boss so far.
Nah, I didn't feel bad about the score, it's just that it picked my attention that it felt like I was the only one to decide to explore after encountering the other souls and ended up chatting with them out of curiosity. I thought that other people may have tried to explore a bit to see whatever was out there, which is something I do a ton every time I play a game, open world or not
