Thanks for the feedback, and playing our game!

The sound bug was not one we encountered, but it's something we'll focus on.

And thanks for the idea about the guns. That's not something we had considered, but something we can experiment and playtest with, to see how it feels.

Thank you! What could we have done better? What didn't make much sense or was confusing?

Ok cool!

Now that the game jam is over, are you going to continue? All those ideas sound great, sand some gameplay testing would help narrow down what works best!

I've got you followed for sure! When it updates I'll definitely be giving it another shot!

I did left click and did see things in the sky move around, but doing as you said, clicking to create a line between the different flowers doesn't seem to do anything. I think I've done as you said, left click to draw a line between flowers. But if I click outside of the flowers and drag a line through, or click on the flowers to draw a line through, holding the mouse down the whole time, does not seem to produce any changes to the flowers.

Here's a YT link of what I see. YT

I'm really confused what to do with all the things to download. If everything could be put into a single zip or whatever, that would be tremendously better.

I don't know if I got it working well after downloading everything and putting it into a single directory. The mouse was weird, but like the notes say, you gotta alt-tab back into it.

I'm not sure the abilities really do anything. Pressing space just makes you do the butt stomp, but then you keep the momentum and can fly right back up. I couldn't really get the abilities to work or anything, I think. It's honestly a little confusing due to how it all works.

I do like that there is music and sound effects.

Cool concept to have. I think some music and audio would definitely improve it, but no one is expecting perfection in 48 hours - certainly not me!

I got to fight the Pawn Warchief, and eventually killed it, but then the game stopped and I had to Alt-F4 out of it.

Hey great effort for a 48 hour game jam!

I didn't notice any significant bugs. I would like a better explanation what the dice is in the middle of the screen though.

This would be a great game if you wanted to continue your effort with it!

Cool fighting game. I noticed that sometimes the player character disappears, but I don't know if that's related to walk cycle, or something in the background. Also, some feedback for when you make an attack on an enemy would be nice. Just what did you roll, and how did it work. There is certainly something to be said about the ambiguity of an attack, but it would be nice to have some indication of what is going on, whether you want to expose the attack and damage or not.

The controls are a little weird. I also have a controller plugged in, and it wasn't fully supported. Normally at least the controller is easy to configure, but I get cutting perfect controller support due to time. Our game barely supports controller, and only because it was built in.

I got to the first dice, and hit R to roll, and it rolled a 6! But then nothing happened. I couldn't get out of it, so I quit. The same thing happened on the second time. Thinking it was a fluke, I relaunched the game, and got stuck with a roll of 5. I don't know if there's something else that needs to be done after rolling, but none of the buttons I pressed did anything. Not WASD or R or Q,E, or even Enter or Space. So I am not sure what is missing. And the page for the game doesn't have any information either, so I just don't know.

I love horror games. This was really atmospheric and I like that.

But I don't see how dice even fit into this. It was fun to run around the first 2 levels, but I didn't see anything at all relating to dice.

Also, the ladders are weird. I got stuck at the top of one, but when I released W to stop going forward, it like auto moved to the top? It was awkward.

I also never saw whatever it was that didn't like me. The atmosphere is great, but I was never caught or killed or anything, and second play through I went a lot slower and it wasn't nearly as scary because I was never gotten.

I couldn't get the flowers to do anything. I followed the instructions on the game's page, and I couldn't interact with the flowers. Left clicking wasn't working, and right clicking moved the camera. Middle clicking did nothing either, but it was cool to be able to zoom. I really wanted to see how this concept would play out. :(

Great effort! It's hard to get something going with such a limited time. Certainly no one is going to poop on anyone for submitting anything.

But just some areas for improvement to consider, if you wanted to keep going with it.

I noticed that when in battle, I can click the Attack or Heal buttons many multiple of times. It also seemed that no matter what I did it only did like 1 point of damage or heal unless hitting it multiple times. And when doing that, it seems that it applies also to what the enemies do. It would have been great to have some graphical feedback for the dice roll for attacks or healing.

Also, it's so very, very tiny. For us olds, it's hard to really see it, and no options to change that.

Good submission, you should feel proud that you were able to get it this far! Great effort, really!

Interesting concept, for sure! I like that you couldn't just use a specific ability right from the getgo, and had to rely on the roll of the dice.

The things that I think didn't work so well were the grappling hook. I never got that to work. Nothing ever fired out or grappled to anything.

The dice ability is interesting as well, but maybe would be better as a special ability you can use as a get out of trouble a limited number of times per map. I never found myself in trouble in a such a way that it was of any use. I think I got it to fire at a cube once or twice, but then the mini cubes also hurt so that is kinda awkward.

This would be a great concept to continue on with! I'd love to see it after it's had more time and polish!

You should continue with it in the Polish Jam, as I'm sure there's a lot you could have added with some more time.

I completely understand!

I could not fudge well enough, and didn't understand how to just fudge him and only him, and kept losing.

Thanks for the reply!

I did not read the page first, I just dove right in.

It is very confusing to use WASD and Arrow Keys at the same time, especially for a turn based game. The use of the X and Y dice as different attacks is also a bit more complicated than expected. I feel it's just complexity for the sake of it, rather than an interesting gameplay mechanic.

I couldn't really see how to solve the first puzzle. No matter what I selected, the characters always moved the same way. I see that there were some dice to roll, but moving didn't change the result based on what I was expecting.

I really like the graphical style and everything.

I couldn't figure out how to attack, so I died. I did see how to defend though, and that was interesting.

(1 edit)

The putting the die in the tumbler is a cool concept, but gets old really fast. I found myself wishing the game was in windowed mode so I could do something else while all the animations played to roll the dice. I also think it's basically a sin any more to have unskippable dialog, so some input there to skip that would be great.

I did like the battle arena, and would have liked to seen what happens if a die hits the target for sure.

I don't know if it's possible to win. When I think I'd win a round, my dice would get cursed, which I think makes the result the lowest of the dice be the one selected. And with the curse, it's hard to win enough to remove a curse from a dice, leading to always losing health and thus keeping the game short without a win condition.

I'd love to see it with a little bit more polish, and explanation as to how the curse works, and maybe make it a bit more balanced as far as ability to win, or at least prolong the gameplay.

Great concept that harkens back to the old Star Trek games of yore!

I played it twice, and could not get very far. It's very easy to take a path where there is nothing else in range, and you won't know until you get there. And since you cannot go back, it's a soft lock condition. Burning luck I think would be a good mechanic to get out of there.

I also don't know what the dice in the top left corner were for. They seemed static, but I somehow got some dice in the box below it. I couldn't click on it, so I wasn't sure what it was for.

When the dice fall off the end, I think it just loops around with the same momentum, causing it to bounce again, giving it more momentum. I quit after a good minute where the second dice would not land on the pad. I would like to see how the RPG mechanic would fit in as well!

Cool defense game! It looks very complete, which is amazing. I'd love to see what else was in store and what more you could do with more time!

This would have been so good with just a little bit more time. I found out that if you take your character and jump into the lava(?) you gain immortality for the rest of the game. It would be awesome to see more of the board and what happens.

The Space Bar either sends your character to space, or doesn't work. And there doesn't seem to be a win condition, other than maybe don't get swarmed. But I also had a bunch of the enemies cuddling up and not dying.

I had a hard time getting mouselook to work. Is there something extra that needs to be done?

Otherwise, happy it has sounds and music, and great use of Unity for the presentation with shadows and everything!

The enemies were trying to social distance! We actually found a bug where they don't want to get too close, but still chase you. I think it's a > when it should be a < in the code somewhere.

We also didn't want to have all the enemies shooting all the time, and keep it a bit easier. When we first started going it, we couldn't even kill anything, even when rolling the attack dice fast, because they'd just zerg and shoot you so quickly. So some polish and balancing is needed for sure!

Thanks for that. I'll give it another shot and try that@

Here you go friend!

Pretty good tower defense game! It even has all the sounds and music and everything, which is a rarity in a game jam (not slagging anyone who didn't get audio working, short time frame is short!).

I'd say rework your UX so that a player isn't clicking in multiple places. The game doesn't seem so fast that you don't have the time to process selecting a tower type while spawning. I do like the random placement, but going between selecting to spawn and the type seems kind of weird. Maybe even just having a random type of dice that gets spawned, and allowing more merging. What I'm saying is that there's a lot of different ways you can take it if you wanted to evolve the concept more. to make the gameplay a little smoother!

Interesting concept to build your own dice! Though it is a little boring to just press the Space key to roll repeatedly.

Even though I rolled enough to have all the upgrades, I could not get them to work on the dice at all. I could click to buy them in the shop, and the dice on the lower half reflected that something was changed, but I saw no real effect afterwards. In the workshop, I could not get the dice to change. The two die in the middle didn't seem to do anything, and no selection could be made to the dice itself. Clicking on some of the sides produced a different dice towards the top, but no interaction with that could be made. Sometimes clicking on other sides of the dice did nothing.

I hope you can continue working on it, even with the polish jam that is happening after this one is finished, because upgrading your dice is a good concept that I'd like to see more of.

I could not get it to run :(

It is hard to add all the polish and everything in such a short time, and I don't think anyone is reviewing games expecting them to be perfect. I certainly am not. I'd like to see it with more time. You should continue on in the Polish Jam that is happening after this has completed!

Thank you for trying!

Would it help with a screenshot maybe?

I'd love to see it with more time to finish up the polish! It is a great concept and presentation, and it's getting down to the little things like communicating what to do with the two different colored parts of the bowl, and such.

Thank you for playing!

What could we have been done better, with more time?

Sorry if I came off extremely negative! I get it, with the short time frame. No one has a good, complete game in this game. I'd love to see it get more "complete", especially if you're going to continue on!
