This game was so cool! The biggest standouts here were the aesthetics and the unique mechanics. The hand drawn art, combined with lighting and post-processing, worked so well and created an awesome vibe. I also enjoyed how seamlessly it transitioned aesthetics when pressing "space".

The only critiques I can offer are mostly just personal preference. I would say it could be fun to have a faster paced version of the game. Where the character moves faster and all the events require quicker thinking. In which case, it'd be nice to have the character controller be more responsive (without acceleration to max walk speed). But again, just personal preference.

Really awesome submission. Definitely got a 5 in aesthetics and did well in all other categories! :)

I very much appreciate the thorough feedback. It's super helpful. I'll definitely look into keeping the flares unlimited while not crashing the game (lol) if I continue development :) Also a tutorial will def be on the list, along with other bug fixes.

I'm gonna play and rate your game at some point today, and I'll be sure to return thorough feedback :D

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback!

Just played and rated your game. Good stuff! :)

You definitely did a good job at creating a creepy vibe! I enjoy the fact that you had fun doing some voice acting on the recorders as well. This was a nice, brief and to the point horror game.

Good work!

I really appreciate the feedback :) Yeah I'd love to play around more with the lighting and shaders and make the impact more meaningful, potentially with light based puzzles even.

I rated and commented on your game. Good work! :D

This was a really cool project! Loved all the hand drawn characters and textures. The highlight shaders were a nice touch and the atmosphere during the darker scenes was really well done. I can tell a lot of work was put into the story and progression of the scenes in the game too!

Good work!

I'd love to! Looking forward to it :)

I appreciate the feedback! I'll definitely look into getting a better looking UI in the future and also expanding the game, since you're right the game is super short due to the time constraint haha

Really enjoyed your game as well! It had great visuals :)

I absolutely love the visual style and assets of this game! Had a lot of fun gathering ghosts!

Only suggestion is to make the character collider smaller and movement and enemy spawning faster paced.

Other than that, great work :)

Appreciate it! Def will look into adding some nice lighting tweaks to it.

Also, really enjoyed your game :)

Fun play! Found it just the right amount of challenging and really enjoyed the visuals :)

I really appreciate the feedback! I'll look into that collider and definitely wanna add more to the game and create a win game screen haha .

I thought the visuals in your game were superb by the way!

I love the visual aesthetic so much! The ui is particularly sick and juicy! Had a lot of fun exploring around the universe you made.

Good work :)

I appreciate it! Just played and rated yours! Good work :)

This was a really cute game! I really liked the octopus animation.

Would be cool to see a big change in rhythm to make it more difficult as it continues. Otherwise, great work!

Thank you! Rated yours as well. Good work :)

I had a lot of fun trying to get new high scores. It's a fun game loop.

Only suggestion would be to have it so holding jump makes you stay in air longer and you fall fast when letting go. This would give the player more control :)

Good work!

Rated yours as well! Good work :)

Had a lot of fun playing this one! The upgrade system was a really nice touch, controls felt smooth and intuitive. I also appreciate that you went for a 3D game where most people do 2D.

Only suggestion would be to make the dash feel a little better by having the camera only loosely follow the character. Also I often die right after an upgrade screen because the enemies keep coming and I don't have time to shoot.

Overall, great work!

Rated yours as well :) Fun game!

Had a lot of fun playing this one! Intuitive and responsive controls, and it felt juice with the particles. Also really appreciated the art and vibe and the ai worked well! Good work!

Just rated and commented on your game :D

The art style is just immaculate! Was a really fun game to play :D

Thank you! Just rated yours :)

Felt like I was going faster than Sanic! This was a really fun entry. Addictive game loop and I thought the stats you show at the end of a run were cool! Good work!

Hey all, good work on the jam games everyone.

You know the drill: I rate your game and you rate mine :)

Here's our submission:

All assets/music/code made during the jam :D

Great game design! I love the unique mechanics of the game and feel like this would be a great game to expand on with more levels :)

Keep up the good work!

Thank you! Played, rated, and commented on yours :)

I love the music. Very relaxing. And the controls felt really nice. It would be ideal to see an option to restart a particular section, so I don't have to redo the whole game when I get stuck. Also would be nice to have some sort of texture or pattern in the background, so I can better see how fast I'm moving.

Overall, good work!

Thank you :)

Played, rated, and commented on yours. Good work!

The movement and jumping mechanics felt really nice. Also appreciated the dialogue in the game. I would recommend adding an option to skip dialogue once you've already read it once, however. Since I don't necessarily need to read it again every time I die. Also the shield didn't seem to work for me.

Keep up the good work!

Played, rated, and commented on yours. Keep up the good work!

Had a lot of fun playing this one! the gameplay was intense and challenging, but seemed reasonably fair. Good work on the assets as well. Really loved the main menu.

Keep up the good work :)

Thank you! Just gave your game a play, rate, and comment :)

Spookiest game I've played in the jam yet!

Has to be the spookiest game I've played in the jam yet! Great work on the creating an engaging atmosphere.

Keep up the good work :)

Played, rated, and commented on yours. I love the art style and color palette!

Keep up the good work :)

Such a cute game! The art style, color palette, UI/font, lofi beat, and clicking sounds are just *chef kiss* impeccable. Def a five for graphics and audio.

Like others said, a longer timer might be nice, since it's a little difficult, but that doesn't subtract from the game too much, since I can just keep playing it over and over again. Love the original gameplay mechanic.

Keep up the good work :)

Played, rated, and commented on yours. Absolutely loved the assets in your game :)

Fantastic game! The pixel art was really beautiful and I particularly liked the smoke animation :) I think the level design was really fun and intuitive and I had a blast figuring out the puzzles. The music and sound were also unique and tied the game together well.

I would only adjust the friction to 0 in game, so I don't get stuck on walls when jumping. Other than that, great game, overall!

Keep up the good work.
