I got a score of 2720! This was a really cool concept that I enjoyed playing (and looking at) quite a bit. I didn't initially realize that it was ok for your own animal to die, so I the game ended pretty quickly once I ate up all the grass lol. Once I understood the true goals of the game I had quite a bit more success. Nice job!
Thank you for the detailed feedback! I can understand the floating frustration. Instead of stopping instantly I thought it would look better to have an acceleration slowing you down to zero vertical speed. As a dev I probably just got used to it taking a second and if I were to update the game I'd increase the strength of this acceleration.
Regarding the wall jumping that feedback was eye-opening to me. You aren't the only one here with the exact frustration of needing to switch directions while wall jumping, and it made me realize something about myself. For as long as I have been playing video games, when I wall jump I instinctually switch directions after each jump. As such I have designed the wall jumping segments based on my own habit. I did not realize this is an uncommon habit! You have no idea how exciting this revelation is to me :D
It's all good, if you're looking to replicate it, it may be useful to know that I ran the game in a Firefox browser on an ubuntu machine. Here is a video showing what the game looked like to me:
I didn't take this into consideration when rating because my laptop is not powerful and my choice of browser and OS may have influenced this as well. But the constant glitching was an eyesore and made it harder to enjoy unfortunately. This game has excellent horror presentation, I was on the edge of my seat. I struggled a lot with understanding what is going on, however. I walked around for some time and eventually came across a computer that released some red dudes and a computer that activated the spike crusher things. I'm guessing I was somehow supposed to crush the red guys? I'm not entirely sure what was happening or what my goal was. I think if there was a little clearer direction this could work well as some kind of horror game.
This was tough but led to some hectic enjoyment. I got to day 13 on my playthrough. I wish I had a little more time to react to things spawning in, because sometimes a predator would spawn right on or next to a prey. 'tis the nature of game jam games. I thought this was overall a fun and creative game, nice job!
I really enjoyed the puzzles in this game as well as the general vibe. The second level in particular was pretty fun! I do wish that things would happen upon my first interaction with them, however. I spent like five minutes running around the first level stuck because when I first interacted with the oar, nothing happened. It was only when I eventually decided to go back and try again that I picked it up and everything fell into place shortly after that. Once I realized I typically had to be persistent with interactions it was smooth sailing and overall a really pleasant experience!
I am really digging the general vibes of this game! I had some trouble understanding a couple of the microgames initially, particularly the one where you align geese (for some reason I though I was supposed to control the one goose at the front instead of wrangling the rest of the flock). I had a lot of fun overall and managed to get a score of 56 on my second go through!
This was quite fun! At one point I encountered instructions that were not possible to follow (I think it said to cut a purple wire but there was not a purple wire) so I thought maybe the solution was to just wait out the bomb timer doing nothing. All the instructions said "defuse the panel" and not "defuse the bomb" and I thought "huh, why would I want to defuse the panel and not the bomb?" Turns out that was not the case and I appreciate the extra dialogue to acknowledge this mistake lmao. I did end up beating the game :)
