Free sounds from chan just starting out.

No worries... Best of luck with it. :)

PS - I forgot to say, it's imperative that you record all your stuff in at least 24Bit - 96kHz. That's if you ever want to sell your packs to professionals. You can always resample them down if you need to but not up. ;)

No problem! And sorry to hear about your rut and I hope you're getting over it. The good news is you can totally bring your Pro Tools skills to any DAW, especially something like Reaper. Incidentally, a lot of the pro sound designers who work for games are now using reaper. It's pricing model is unbelievably fair. You can get a full 'discounted license' for $60! And only when you make over X amount do they ask you to pay the full amount ($225). Which is still very reasonable! I won't tell you how much I paid for Nuendo. lol

The H5 is a great wee recorder. Start recording EVERYTHING you can. Record your whole house inside and out. All those sounds will be gold dust in a few years. And even the most mundane sounds can be used to create awesome game sounds. And you'll be able to process the bezesus out of them with  Reaper (or any DAW). Just keep experimenting and recording everything.

Here's a few youtube channels I highly recommend.

Reaper specific tutes: Check out Reapermania on youtube.

Regarding posting your stuff. To be honest, I'm not a good social media guy. But I would say definitely get a youtube channel and start right away. You can even just post stuff you record. Eventually you should get a website so your easy to contact and find. I would definitely have a look at where Akash Thakkar does as he's very good on social media.

For Foley have a look at these guys and their channels. Watch how they work, you'll learn loads! And nice people too:

H5 is a good start. I hate to say it though, as it seems so obvious, but practice is the key to understanding sound design. What software do you have? It's imperative that you have a DAW (digital audio workstation). Reaper is your best bet as it's very powerful and cost-effective.
Living in NZ isn't so much of a problem as you can connect with people all over the world these days. As long as you have a place online to display your portfolio.

If I were you, I'd trawl you tube as there is some great sound designers there who share their knowledge. And try and do a lot of re-designs from popular games for practice.

Hey friends,

As the title says I'm very excited to be releasing my first art packs :). I hope you guys like them. I'll probably be adding to them in the future as well as I'd like to keep the packs fresh. Thanks!

Sad to hear this... But I get it. Best of luck whatever you do in the future!

Not really...
Unless you're after a very specific experience or designing a game for a particular demo graph. For me (and this is personal) I'm far more interested in the plot's main concept. Other factors outside that are just superfluous (imo).
But YMMV!

I'd highly recommend Reaper for music and sound design. It's an absolute powerhouse and it's affordable too. There is also a lot of tutorials for it on youtube, etc.

Latest modern gun warfare pack soon to be released. :)

Finished my sci-fi guns I broke them down into components so I can cobble more when I need to.

Doing some futuristic guns!

Hey, I sent you a friend request on Discord. :) Looking forward to talking to you. Thanks!

Some new fantasy pixel icons I've been working on.

hello, I'm a pixel artist (as well as a vector artist).

I'd be interested in working with you, especially, if it is influenced by HLD! I have a couple of other projects on at the moment too. But depending on your schedule I'm very interested. Cheers, Rob.

Looks very cool!

I have no real preference per se. The key thing for me is to have really good sound fx and ambiences, etc. But music would always be a second. However, that's just my personal opinion. So, I totally would buy a game without music, YMMV.

Latest piece up on DT a Chest Mimic.

Thanks! Got it. :) Chat soon!

This sounds really cool. I'd be interested in a sound designer position. Especially if it's horror! :)

If you want to discuss the project drop me a line. Cheers!

Did you ever hit me up on Discord? I didn't seem to get any notifications.

Hello!
I doa lot of work for ttRPGs (if you ever want black and white art). :)

Thanks!

Here's my portfolio on Drivethru: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/publisher/28693/rob-necronomicon

Loads of really good tutorials on youtube for that. Or some decent courses on Udemy. Best of luck with it. :)

No problem! Glad they helped. :)

Another one!

Here's a few bits I'm working on for an upcoming RPG.

Inkscape is cool. Although, I use Affinity Designer for my vector stuff but they are both quite similar.

Not sure if this helps, but i did do a few tutorials on map details for my youtube chan. But it's for AD, however, the principals should work in any vector program (I would think).

Hey, thanks for your kind words.

I do create both but I've never done it for games. It's always for TTRPGs. What parts are you having difficulty with? An what software do you use? Cheers! :)

Hi me up on Discord! :)
