Really fun to play! Those snakes really took me by surprise. Still don't know what the stealth detection thing is, but overall had a great time! Well done!

I think I may have broken the game a bit lol. Really fun to play though. Such simple mechanics, but so fun! And I love the "fly fish". They're lookin' so fly! The jacket, the hair, I'm in love. The splashing sounds and the music are all lovely. Other than this bug, really great game! I'm so impressed with how much you could get done in a week!

I LOVE the little blue guy. So cute! The art is amazing! The feel of moving and jumping is good too. Would love to see more than two levels on a loop, but on such a time crunch, it's really good! Well done!

I did it! Very fun game. I absolutely adore the art, especially the background art. The speed is good and that school of fish got me a few times. I'd like to give critical feedback about two things. First, I didn't feel like I needed to use the dash at all. Maybe more parts that would need you to use it? Second, the spacing out of the little circles in each level. You should have an overall counter and a level counter. Or at least make each of them in a level at an even level. I ran around that first level trying to find the 10th piece of plastic for a while just to realize there were only 9. Other than that, really good vibes, the music was rather low, but sounded great once I blasted my speakers lol. Great job overall!

Really great idea! The puzzles are great! I got stuck on the 3rd or 4th room, whichever had the introduction of the walls you could go through. Probably just because I'm not great at slide puzzles lol. But I love the art in this! The only critical feedback I would give you is that it's hard to know how far things extend. Often I would go toward an object expecting to bump into it, to only pass behind it. So perhaps using half pixels to make that clearer. Other than that, great job!

Really cool concept! I love it when the screen gets darker when you run out of air. I wasn't too sure how to build more rooms though? I had enough resources and pressed "F" but I didn't know what to press after that. Tried making a room far from my base, but ended up drowning instead haha. I love the art. Especially the tutorial hologram guy. Great job!

The music is awesome! Wish there was more direction as to what to press when I start playing the game. Very fun though! great cutesy art style. Honestly I want to get further to hear more of the music. Great job!

The vibes are immaculate.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. Are you still interested in working together? If so, add me on Discord. My username is Magicalflyingcow (just like here :P)

Hi! I'm Paulina and I'm looking for a team for this jam. I have some experience as a pixel artist, you can check out the GB Jam that I was a part of on my page or you can go to my Instagram account @Magicalflyingart to check out more of my artwork. I'm not necessarily a beginner, but I haven't been creating for very long either. In spite of that, I am a hard worker and also work part-time so I'll have plenty of time to work on this jam. If that sounds good to you, consider me for your team for this jam!

Thanks for your quick reply! And actually I had another thought about what you said about mapping PLACES. I just assumed you were going from room to room in a straight line. One door in one door out. Could a PLACE have more than two entrances?

(1 edit)

Hi! Cool game! I have a few questions though because I keep dying lol.

1) How are you supposed to start? Are you fighting THEM right at the get go? Or rolling for a place?

2) If you miss one of three shots and FIRE AGAIN, do you fire three shots again or only one shot?

3) Is WHAT REMAINS only for when you make THEM fall or is that used also when you enter a room?

4) Can you reload all your bullets in one move or only one bullet at a time?

5) I didn’t realize that I wasn’t supposed to map out the place if I didn’t have the compass until I read the other comment on here. Also, if a room is considered empty once visited, what use is backtracking? Is it for the locked rooms? And do you need to roll for THEM when revisiting a room?

6) Less of a question and more of a suggestion. I was defs very confused at first and would have loved some kind of introductory blurb to explain how to read the rules and especially where to start.

7) One more suggestion would be to put the text of the items and places on or next to each image in the cutouts. The art is cool, but hard to remember what each image represents on a glance.

I really like all the vibes though and will try it out some more!

Thanks!

I totally agree! We'll definitely put it in as we continue to develop this game. As for difficulty, we're still balancing that haha. Thanks for the comment!

Great game! Very game boy feeling. The graphics are really nice and clear and look great. The mechanic to kill enemies doesn't work sometimes and the roll while hooking didn't work for me until I realized I need to be holding a direction to roll, not just hit B (lol). But other than that, it was really fun! Especially when I figured out how to move those rocks without instruction. I was like :O

I LOVE this. The dialogue is fun and quirky, the arts is great, and you use the theme of the jam twice! Great work!

The graphics are great! Love the pop art outlines, efficient in that it makes the objects clearer and also stylish. And I'm liking the sound too!

This is also my first game jam! I gotta say, those graphics are great and that background music slaps. Great job!

Oh my gosh so cute! Really love the art for this one and especially the +1 that really telegraphed earning points very well. Great job!

Hi! I've just started making pixel art, have some experience with GameMaker Studio, and just started learning how to use Unity. I'm a newbie for sure, but I'm between jobs right now, so I have plenty of time to make up for lack of experience. I'm also based out of Taiwan, so my timezone might be a bit off from most of you, but I'd love to put together a small team for this jam. Anyone interested in joining me?
