Project:
- The project doesn't have a name yet so we will call it Project Alpha. I won't go in-depth on the project brief here. We can go over that in detail if your hired. To keep it simple, the game is a 3D third-person linear story driven city builder. It contains NSFW elements in the game. The game engine used will be Unity.
Developer:
- Currently, the project just has me.
Looking for:
{IF YOU DON'T HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE THAT OK, I AM WILLING TO TRAIN BUT YOU WILL RECIEVE A LOT LESS IN PAYMENT AND MUST SHOW COMMITMENT}
- I am looking for multiple 3D artist who knows how to use Daz3D and blender. In addition, I am also looking for multiple C# programmer who are familiar with the Unity engine to help me out. Finally, I would like to hire some level designers, documenters and writers. Check below at Work commitment and Job Description to understand the job responsibly and role.
Employment Type / Work commitment:
(The project will have a rough monthly budget of £1,200-£1,500 [May increase in the future])
- This work is paid based on task completion. I will post many different tasks that need to be completed, each task having it's own timeline and payment upon completion. All are open to negotiation before you commit to the task. For example, there could be a task to export 5 Daz3D models to Unity and fix any texture issue which may require you to export to blender first to fix, then export to Unity. Expected task duration: x days, Agreed payment: £x00 amount.
To emphasis, you are only paid based on the small milestone work you complete. It all depends on how commit to the project you want to be.
Preferred method of contact:
- Discord: _kamigaru
Job Description:
- This section is split into sections based on the following open roles;
As long as you can fulfil a range of task, you can apply for the job role. You don't need to be great at everything. The more you can do, the more task you can complete and the more you'll get paid. But even if you can only do a few thing, if you can do it well, you can still be paid and hopefully learn from others if they are willing to teach.
3D Artists:
- Create unique characters in Daz3D / Blender.
- Export character models to Unity.
- Fix any related texture issues on models and ensure high quality.
- Export character morphs to Unity.
- Create environment assets in Blender.
- Create LOD for assets in Blender and import to Unity.
- Take any external assets from the project that have issues and fix them in blender.
- Take assets used in Unity, export to blender, then export to Daz3D. Ensure models, props etc from Unity are texture correctly in Daz3D. (Important for later on as some animations will be animated in blender and some in Daz3D. It's important we have a way to transform models from one engine to another.)
Programmers:
- Have Unity version 6.0 LTS installed.
- Have a intermediate level understanding in programming.
- Write clean and extendable C# code. (E.g. The health system shouldn't know anything about the combat system) Single responsibility.
- Script custom Editor tools to streamline development.
- Organise project files in a clean, maintainable and accessible way.
Level Designer:
- Be familiar with the Unity engine terrain system.
- Design the map terrain.
- level design the different settlements.
- level design several key zones on the map e.g. the woodlands.
- familiarise yourself with the Unity post-processing system.
- Apply different post-processing zones to enhance scene view.
Writers:
- Take the brief timeline story from the project brief and write complete stories for each segment.
- Ensure the story is consistence.
- Apply foreshadowing in the early parts of the game story, this requires you to understand the story in the late-game.
- Write small branches based on character input.
- Ensure all branches return back to the original story-timeline in a linear format.
- Write side-quest stories.
- Write about the world lore, character backgrounds and history. This requires a good understanding of the game setting and story.
Documenters:
- Every role will be required to write documentation for what they are doing. It's your responsibility to take these documents, put them together and cleanly maintain the documents.
- Create and maintain key documentation for the project. E.g. an excel budget report, a document containing all the licences and links, a documents listing all contributors to the game development etc.
- Adjust the game design document and ensure it is kept up-to-date so that any new staff that join the team can have the full up-to-date scope and info of the game.
Additional comments:
- Don't be afraid to walk away from the game. The way the payment task based system is setup, you get paid for each task you agree too and complete. This means you can work on a task for a week, get paid, vanish for 2 month then come back and pick up another available task. You can commit to the project as much as you like. Paid not on a set time, but on the work you complete. And again, all task are negotiated for fair price before an agreement is made to commitment.
If you have any questions add me on discord or DM me here and I will do my best to answer your questions.
UPDATE:
Now seeking additional roles; Promoter, Audio Designer.
Hello,
Overview
I'm currently at the beginning stages of developing a new first-person game that was inspired by the game Bully (See images below). I haven't planned it out much yet, but the core idea is that your starting your first year at university. The aim is to graduate university whilst achieving the best storyline outcome that the player wishes to follow (e.g. Achieving romantic status with the girls, achieving best possible grades, being strongest etc.) For each unique character (Around a dozen or so), there will be unique quests and storylines which will require the player to achieve certain stats or do certain things etc. This help to add re-playability to the game. The rest of the AI characters will be randomly generate and place across the map at certain times etc.

The game will most likely contain some mature content so anyone wishing to take an active role in development must be 18+. It's also just a personal preference that anyone wishing to join the team is 18+.
I plan to use a range of assets from the Unity Asset Store to help speed up development.
Here is am example of what I have quickly put together in a Unity scene:
Roles
I am currently doing everything but I would like to primarily focus on the programming aspect of the project. It would be great if I could find creators to fill the following roles:
- Character Creators [Currently Using Daz3D for the characters and importing to Unity]
- Gameplay / Story Writers
- Music / Sound Effects Producer
- 2D UI Artists
- 3D Object Modeler
- Cutscene Animator
- Marketers
I plan for the game to be released on Steam for free, and people can send their donation support if they wish too. However, if the game quality and scope far surpasses my expectation, I will reconsider the pricing and evaluated appropriate rev-share for each individual contributor.
Here is my Discord If you want to get in touch: _kamigaru
Hello, I'm an experienced programmer in Unity. I know that may not be some people strongest areas which can restrict gameplay. For thoughts interested in requesting my help for their Unity game projects. I do have some requirements for helping out.
Requirements
- Allow me to market the game etc on my own channels etc.
- Will offer to work for free however if the project is planned to be charge for players to play, I request compensation for the work done.
- Dedicated to progress & communicate often using Discord.
If your interested, get in touch. We can then go from there.
I believe you are the first who tried haha. I'll have to lower the jump value as a temp solution fix. I am currently working on a custom reusable package that'll be available for free to any indie dev from the asset store. Aim of it being to make it easier for newer dev to get something working and spark that game dev passion. This jam helped inspire that idea. I then plan to make a medium size horror game after, this was basically a test run on the atmosphere to see if I could get something working.
I am assuming this is your first game ever made. It's good that you were committed to getting something submitted to the jam. It would of been nice though it you expanded upon the Brackey tutorial a little bit. Like a dice the roll on the side which changes the ground direction depending on its roll etc. And a bit of music would of been a nice touch too.
If your just learning Unity, don't be afraid to reach out to me if you ever have any questions or a bug you can't fix. The Indie dev community is a kind and open place for you to explore.
Dice roll controls the time interval of the game, I like it. I have two suggestion though. I dislike how the projectiles are just white squares, maybe make a pixel art circle with a bit of colour. Also, add an audio slider so the player can control the audio. I like hearing music when I play games so it was unfortunate that I had to choose between the music being too loud or no music at all.
Besides them two issues, I liked the game.
I was going to add a monster that chases you around the map. This would mean you couldn't just sit at the gate and keep rolling till you opened it. That would bring the full theme of roll of the dice into play. However, I didn't have time at the end to setup the monster so I settled for quickly putting another level together. The flashlight would attract the monster to your location, so you had to only keep it on for a short time interval. That was the plan but it fell short due to deadline approaching.
I am planning on my next game to be a horror type game like this but not a maze, open world in a Forrest.
