Right now it is just me and my wife working on our game. We were planning to make this game for quite a while now and we plan to enter it into the Jam but we are not sure if we can complete it in time as we are planning to add a lot of story elements. With this in mind some questions please:

1. Can we expand on the game after the jam has ended? We probably will finish a playable and finished prototype game and improve and add to it later on.

2. Can we market our game once it is fully completed? We are really new to this and we want to reach more people if we can to get more feedback later on. We will be mostly using our own assets if we can for this.

3. We are very new to this, if anyone is interested to team up with us we would be really appreciative and of course we will also include you on when we further improve the game in the future. Right now I handle the programming side and the wife handles the art and music. Any help will be really appreciated.

edit: i really suck at programming but i try lol*

We are using Unity and the game we are making is 2D.

Thank you and sorry for the long post.

If you need help with programming, here's my discord Kamigaru#7468.

Yes, absolutely. Keep in mind the jam doesn't end until the voting phase has completed, during that time you can't make changes to your uploaded version unless it's to fix a game breaking bug.

2. Can we market our game once it is fully completed?

Certainly! You can even market it when it's not completed, to see if there's an audience looking for a game like yours.

Thank you so much for the response. It is going to be a very simple one. This is our first Jam and it really is more motivating trying to work on a passion project when a part of a community like this. Thank you!!!

Game Jams are great for ideation. The themes challenge you to be innovative, and they are a great starting place for you to play with an idea that you can later flesh out into a more fully fledged game. This is still your IP at the end of the day. For a Jam though, especially one that is just 10 days long, you need to try and keep the scope under control. Personally I prefer to try and add lots of polish to my games if I have the time, but to keep the mechanic(s) very straightforward. Thats my approach for this one. Wishing you both the best.
