Hello! Thank you so much for checking out my game and sharing the gameplay, sorry about it being so buggy! But I've fixed it now with updated artwork too! I'll also will be working on completing the game in the future! Hope you will check it out next time:)

This is so cute. I like that the mechanics are very simple to pick up and try, and I really liked the art work and music too! I thought it was also pretty cool that you took the "upliftment" part of the theme, quite literally haha.

I think that the general idea of this game is great! I really liked the artwork for the cards and also the writing for the friends and on the cards itself.

Hello! Thank you so much for checking out my game. I will do better prompts in my next update so that players know where to go and what to do next. It's a pity I didn't get to test run it before submission! If not you'd have gotten to the Crossroads with even more characters showing up :D

Thanks for reporting the bug to me so that I can fix it! I'm already working on an updated build with more art within (as I had originally intended but lack of time). Hope you'll check it out when its done :)

Again, thank you for playing

I think overall this was a cool idea with a wonderful premise. The idea of using music as cues for movement is a great idea! It's the gameplay that needed some polish as there were collision issues with the vines so I couldn't walk past certain paths and the star didn't seem to be able to follow too well as it got stuck behind some vines too.  I think the background music helped to create the correct mood, but if only the star emitted more soothing tones with the same kind of vibe instead of this synth would make it more cohesive. I think with more time you could really turn this into a very comforting and soothing game :)

The graphics and music was so cute. Love the cats,  birds monsters and even their ghosts when they die! The fact that you had cards to add companions to the fight after earning enough gold was a cool touch. It fit with the Halloween theme well too. Only wish the initial fight was a little faster so that I can kill and earn gold faster and get to the upgrades/meat of the game. I think if you had more time to polish the game play, it'd be a real treat to play it again and see what other cool stuff I can buy in game :)

I think the physics of the game was pretty fun, including how responsive moving and shooting felt. The music also had a nice beat to keep the "fight" going. I couldn't really figure out what to do at first until I realized you could use the keyboard to use abilities. Nice effort! :D

I love this game! So innovative that you mixed a typing-spelling challenge game with the "What's the Time, Mr. Wolf?" game that we used to play as kids! The halloween twist was pretty clever too with the wolf trying to teach his kid how to do scares. Super cute! Can't wait for you to develop this fully :D

P.S. I don't get how Gary really works. He's suppose to scare the little wolf - so, does he get closer with time, or does he get closer with wrong words?

This is so cute :) I enjoyed taking photos with my camera, I just couldn't do the first person for too long (but that's a me problem, not so much the game). I think the animals are super cute and enjoyed the music. Like the chill vibe overall.

thanks for checking it out! You can find the wand outside. I should make a prompt for that in the future. :)

I really liked the pixel art style for this - the design of the characters and creatures was something that stood out for me! The gameplay was simple enough to understand so I could jump right into the action. A particular kudos I must give is when certain sound effects (like something being pushed) are used as audio cues for where a creature might be, that was fantastic. It made me go - what's that sound?  It really lent to that horror story vibe. I think the sound effects and music with the heartbeat and clock ticking helped to build the tension too.

But I do wish the action ramped up a little bit faster though or perhaps the map was too big for me to explore, so I didn't actually feel scared.. Maybe by darkening the surrounding background and only letting the player really rely on the lamp would make the game even more scary. But of course, you only had so little time to work on this - so for only spending 28 hours on this, It's a good game!

Haha! This is such a cute game! I love the pixel graphics, the sound effects and the unhappy grunt that the monsters make when I give them something wrong! I did find the gameplay challenging though, I couldn't read the guide and understand each item fast enough before a monster stormed away. I couldn't memorize what exactly they liked either well enough haha

Also, while I did say I love the pixel graphics, I think some items could be made more apparent, for example - like the cookies, I didn't know those were the cookies and I could click on them.  All in all, it was a fun little experience and I really enjoyed it.

Oh! That IS strange indeed. Thank you for reporting that :D

I really like that your entry stands out as a novel game. I enjoyed the writing and also the illustrations of the different characters you made to go along with the text. The music also fit with the mood and vibe. I think with more time, there could be even more deeper immersion with the story - I'm so curious about this world, the lore of this universe, the background of my companions - who are they? Why are we here together ( I assume we stole something) ? And who exactly IS the visitor? Good job!

I really like this entry where we become the uninvited guest - that's really smart! I love the design of the wolf, and also the little powers like "disguise" and "hiding in the shadows" those are all so very cool! The game was easy to learn and pick up. The music was good as it helped with building the atmosphere and chomping down on the sheep had a nice tactile feeling when the sound effects is combined with a minor jolt.

I think if you had more time, you'd make it even more slick, with a tutorial maybe inbuild into the gameplay rather than just typing it out in giant fonts, which took up alot of visual room and make the tutorial pasture feel cluttered and aesthetically unpleasing.

Anyway, over all it was very good!

For a simple shooter game, this hits the nail on the head! LOL. After repairing so many windows and shooting zombies - I haven't got a chance to get a drink yet! And I need one!

I think it's a really fun, short game with a super simple concept that captures the gameplay and the theme well (with a tad of humour too!) The mechanics are easy to learn and the controls are intuitive. I wished there was more to do within the game (if it was expanded in the future), but in it's current state, I think it works really work for what it is!

Hey there! Yes, the music on the loop didn't work well and it probably destroyed some of the tension I was trying to build in the game! I will rework that after the jam. Thank you for checking out my game and for your feedback

Hey there! Appreciate your feedback and you taking the time to play the game! So glad you managed to reach one of the endings, I'm thinking most of the people made it the one with the "intruder" but there is also another ending for the demo after you go out there and explore :P So weird that pressing A or Z didn't work at the end, coz it worked for me, but I will check that out after the jam ends!

Hey thank you so, so, so much! Your big reaction brings a smile to me and am so appreciative of it! Thank you again and I will try my best to finish the game!

Thank you so much for your comment! It's very heartening to read and it gives me encouragement to continue!

Hey there! Thank you so much for your kind words :)

Hey! Thank you so much for playing the game and I like that you enjoyed how story heavy the game is compared to a game with lots of action. (Which I may have trouble figuring out how to code given the short jam timeframe haha) And thanks so much for pointing out the flaws - I will check the dialogue, I think there were some text loops that are wonky and also didn't get fixed. And yea, I'll definitely rework the music!

Thank you, thank you! I will continue to work on this game to give it a conclusion between work and my free time - I already had the story all mapped out but I spent way too much time drawing and trying to figure out how some of the coding works, and hence ran out of time! Unfortunately GB studio doesn't allow for mouse input as it's mainly for the gameboy. But I can definitely change the keyboard bindings to E (which makes sense, most PC games E is for interaction as you rightly pointed out). Thank you again for your lovely feedback and for playing

Yes, you pointed out something about the game having a slow start that I need to change. There was suppose to be a few more markers of what the player is suppose to do, and also a few smaller mini games so that when the game really gets off ground, you'd know what to do - but I ran out of time to fully test and implement those features.  The Thing was definitely an inspiration for this! Thank you for checking out my game

Thank you so much for your kind words!! I really appreciate it

Thank you so much for your lovely and breakdown in your feedback! Those are points where I can definitely continue to work on and improve. I'm so glad you enjoy the story and seemed really invested in it. Thank you again!

Thank you so much, yes I do plan to continue! It's a much bigger scope then when I first start out, so it'll take a while.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the visuals, I spent way to much time on one thing and ran short of time for the jam :D

Yes! I will include the .gbc file when I next update the game :) I just ran out of time to compile the ROM. Thank you so much for playing

This is such a cute game! I really enjoyed the visuals - as simple as they are they were charming. I particularly like the cat trick or treater design., so cute! The music was also well done, it was on a loop but totally fit the theme and it didn't feel repetitive in an annoying way - it was catchy and cute! I like how simple the gameplay was, without having to figure out overcomplicated mechanics (I can see why since you submitted for another jam too)
I really like the opening to, it had such a fun humour. If you do expand this game into a larger universe, you have a great start! Perhaps at the party, you have obnoxious guests that make a mess you'd have to clean up too. So different levels of cleaning up lol.

I think overall, the idea of creating a digital board game is very cool! It's definitely unfinished, so can't really comment on the gameplay or mechanics in general (I only realised you could play all 3 characters, and some of them wind up "dead" when you roll onto certain numbers but I couldn't figure out anything much else nor could I understand the theme of "uninvited guest"). I'm no coder, so I've no idea how to even program something like this - so to me, this is very impressive. I just wanted to drop a note to encourage you to continue working on it :)

The eerie haunted atmosphere was captured really well, the sound design helped this especially. I also like how simple the tutorial was in telling me what to do. There wasn't much a story though, which I feel probably because you didn't have time to do, but if you could, it would enhance this gameplay by so much! Overall, it was a good effort.

This is one of my favourite games for this Jam. it's so simple but it captures the theme perfectly, and also the rules were straightforward enough to pick up and play easily! The cuteness of it and the music all fit into the style of the game too. Since it was only made in 12 hours, of course more could be done to make it even more polished, and have more levels - but for what it is currently, it's top notch!

I think you guys captured the dreary, repetitive feeling of scanning items out of the check out counter. At first, I thought I'd be playing a time-management type game, but because of how dreary the job was, I actually found myself looking forward to seeing Martha just so I can find out what she was going to say next. Since it's only a prototype to test stuff, wont' be commenting much on the graphic bugs and the overall gameplay and story (as there isn't much else).  I am curious to see where else this story is going to take me if you continue working on it!

I think this was a really cool game and idea overall. Making us "guess" with some mystery and clues mixed with abit of the visual novel style is such a great idea. I like the cutscenes mixed with the audio cuts, they were really well timed and helped with the mood/pacing.  For 36 hours, this is a great accomplishment! With even more time,  better and consistent visuals which would help with a more cohesive look for the game, the story telling would be tighter and also, you'd be able to fix some of the hit boxes as at some points in the game I found myself pixel hunting.

Thanks for the troubleshoot in the page, unfortunately it didn't work out. The game loaded but it was moving too slowly with severe FPS issues.  I could see prompts to do things, but the graphics wouldn't load properly so in the end I couldn't figure out what to do as I had trouble seeing what was on screen. Just wanted to drop a comment to show some encouragement that at least you tried something and learned from it!

This was a pretty fun game once I figured out the controls! I didn't realise that hitting the spacebar would be the way to activate the mini games. I liked the mini games, they were cool, and also I was surprised to pick up the gun that shot the pumpkins - that was a cool idea! I also really loved the music, they were cool!

I think it you had more time to work on polishing the graphics, and also gave a bit of a short tutorial on the controls would help enhance the game more! For example, instead of putting all 5 rules and tips in the beginning, you could have each rule tagged with a level so that there is aprogression on what we have to do and learn to progress in the game.

I really love the design of the characters, enemies and also the audio was pretty good too - it really lent a game a special style and also had it's own unique humour. I also loved your write up for the game  - it was so smart to write it in the first person voice.

However, I  didn't seem to be able to control Anka very well and also the movement before demon butterflies showed up was way too slow. So, it requires someone to be really patient to wait for something to happen.  Also, I thought I was shooting with Tom pretty well, but the demon butterflies seemed to have "touched" the house even before they actually touched it (visually). So, that was kinda a bummer. Overall, it's a cool idea and with more time and polish, it could be a very unique game!

This was such an innovative way for a match-3 game that turned horror! I really liked the basic idea of it, and your execution (e.g. the gameplay, graphics and audio) . Especially since it was done only in 24 hrs!

It was creepy wandering around the factory. I totally didn't expect the mannequin too (which I assumed were the visitors). I feel like if you could put in abit of story, and also a few more landmarks, it would elevate this entire game even more. For example, some indication of where to go (e.g. a map of the place so that I can find the generator for instance) overall, it was such a good start to an idea!

this is beautiful! I think it’s amazing you managed to pull this off in GBstudio. It’s so polished and also the animations for approving tickets and the minor shakes of the camera really help enhance the gameplay. This is so good!
