I think you guys captured the dreary, repetitive feeling of scanning items out of the check out counter. At first, I thought I'd be playing a time-management type game, but because of how dreary the job was, I actually found myself looking forward to seeing Martha just so I can find out what she was going to say next. Since it's only a prototype to test stuff, wont' be commenting much on the graphic bugs and the overall gameplay and story (as there isn't much else).  I am curious to see where else this story is going to take me if you continue working on it!
