I feel pretty stupid for not realizing you can scroll through the card selections, I was playing with only 3 cards to choose from at a time (basically 2 when seppuku was introduced) till the last level where I finally realized it lmao. Really clever idea though, the game looks nice and is pretty fun to play!

Real fun and clever twist on golf games! The environment design looks great! Be nice if during the set up phase you could see the initial direction the ball's gonna go, so that you can appropriately prepare for it. Solid work though regardless!

Very clever take on the theme! You really nailed the atmosphere change between hunting and being hunted!

What a simple yet really fun and well utilized mechanic! It's very satisfying to control, and the art and sound design fit really well! My only minor complaint is there's a bit too much waiting with some of the moving blocks I think, especially at the start of that one level where you have to wait for the first platform to move every time you respawn. I'm just impatient though, the game was a blast to play regardless! :)

Bro if my computer started closing applications to free up ram I'm not stopping at just closing the game

Really charming dialogue and premise! Trying out different spell combinations is pretty fun, though I think a minute is a bit long to wait to try a new one, especially when you pick an absolutely atrocious combination. But hey, you're the boss.

Absolute banger of a game! Concept is super creative and well executed, getting all the endings was a very fun challenge!

Solid game, love the concept and the puzzles are pretty well designed! Took me a while to figure out exactly what the blue and green blocks did

Very cools vibes, and I love the idea of being the final boss! Once you figure out the mechanics the game's fun, but also a bit monotonous, I'm interested in seeing how the missing features and other additions you mentioned would spice up the gameplay

Yeah I used to play a ton of battle block theatre! Love that game, definitely an unintended inspiration

Thank you! To make the paper cutouts I hand drew the art in gimp and added it as a texture onto a plane in blender, where I used the knife tool to loosely cut around it.

What a banger! Concept is super creative and the puzzles were very cleverly designed!

Really good concept and execution, the game's fun and surprisingly comprehensive for a jam game! The amount of levels you have plus the different car and animal types as well as the addition achievements is crazy, well done!

Really like the concept, the bullet is pretty fun to control and the game looks nice! However, the game is rather unfair, enemies frequently spawn on top of you or too close to you to stop in time.

Very cool game! Controls nicely and was more of a challenge than I initially thought it would be! Nice work :)

Neat game, I like the take on the theme, and the core mechanic is solid and has good potential! Got a bit confused when the third level wouldn't progress and I couldn't restart but I assume that's where you ran out of time.

Really cool concept, making the cards yourself and having to account for where the player is gonna put it makes for some cool gameplay, and figuring out what each effect does through trial and error is pretty fun!

However, the game kept freezing up on me, either the attack phase would start and wouldn't progress or pressing the red arrow would do nothing, and I'd have to refresh the page to start over.

Otherwise I enjoyed the game when it was working!

Loved the aesthetic and sound design, big fan of the comically slow walk with the ascending and descending footstep sounds!

Thank you everyone who played and rated my game during the jam! :)

I've uploaded a small patch for the game, mostly to help with the difficulty. Here are the most important changes:

-Halved the delay time for switching dimensions

-Added a shadow that's always directly under the player

-Doubled the time it takes for things to fade away when switching dimensions

-Removed the health bar

-Added an easy mode that makes platforms in the other dimension visible at all times

That's all! I probably won't add anything else to the game and move on to a new project, but if you have any request for any additions or changes leave a comment here or on the game page and I'll think about it.

Loved all the notes left around the house! Cool little game, especially considering it was made in only 5 hours! :)

Oh wow, that's high praise! Thank you so much! :)

Thank you! :)

Glad you got it to work! Thanks for playing, happy to see you liked it!

Neat game! I like having the areas you go to in the background! One little piece of advice, take it with a grain of salt, but I think if you had it so the player is always going to the next area in the background the level design would be a bit more cohesive and it'd feel a little less like your wandering aimlessly. Plus it would allow you to see the entirety of the platforming challenge your about to do every time, so you're never going into sections completely blind. Solid job though, I liked it!

Very nice game! The artwork and music are lovely, story is engaging, and I especially like the unimportant yet charming dialogue for interacting with all the things in the office!

Quite a cool concept, leads to some very interesting and unique gameplay! You could make it a bit more clear which parts of the ground you can fall to without getting a game over, since there's really no way to tell which parts are safe to land on other than trial and error. Overall the game's pretty fun, nice job!

Banger game! Love all the different actions you can take and how the game rewards you differently for each of them!

Really cool game, didn't have any friends on hand but it seems like it'd be a lot of fun to play coop with one! I appreciate that you made it playable singleplayer at all with the divided keyboard controls!

One addition I think would benefit your game is enemy health bars, it's a small thing but being able to keep track of their hp would be a nice qol feature.

Love the gimmick of your actions affecting what happens on your friend's side, that's an awesome idea!

Thank you so much! :)

Thanks! I was already considering changing it so the platforms in the other dimension are still visible, this reinforces that decision

Nice take on the theme, finding the portal and transitioning to 3d was a very cool moment! I spent a bit too long exploring the 3d area looking for some kind of secret to progress only to realize the game ends there, would've been nice to have some kind of indicator that the game's over. Solid game though, nice work!

Really cool game, platforming feels nice and I quite like the change in vibes when entering the void! Not a fan of the lives system though, I think it's a very annoying way of extending a game's playtime in a non meaningful way. Other than that though the game was pretty fun and a welcome challenge!

Thanks!

Thanks! That's a good point, I'll have to add something like a shadow directly under the player to help with that

Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep that in mind!

Looks and sounds nice, and the movement feels good to control. I found it kind of annoying that your own traps hurt you, especially considering how far you're knocked back when you take damage and the lack of I-frames, which lead to me being ping ponged between my trap and an enemy till I died. Otherwise though I like it

The aesthetic is really interesting, I like it! The mirrored character concept is cool, but it doesn't really add much in terms of gameplay, since you would play the game the exact same way if instead of a mirrored level there was just a wall. Neat game nonetheless, nice work!

Really cool mechanic! And you made pretty clever use of each of it's aspects in your puzzles! Really nice work!

Fun little game, I like the difficulty of it!

Simple yet fun game! Controls very well! Having the camera be lower or having it show a larger area would be nice, sometimes you can't see platforms you need to jump down to. It was a good experience regardless!
