Quite a cool concept, leads to some very interesting and unique gameplay! You could make it a bit more clear which parts of the ground you can fall to without getting a game over, since there's really no way to tell which parts are safe to land on other than trial and error. Overall the game's pretty fun, nice job!

Cool idea! If you want to test our game there it is: https://astral-creation-studio.itch.io/your-princess-is-in-another-dimension

This is a really cool idea. It is challenging doing a platformer at an angle but I really like it here. The music is great and really catchy too!

Really love this concept! Platforming is incredibly challenging when the phone's viewport is at a slight angle, which I actually quite liked, but as others have said a checkpoint system might have helped.

Jumping mechanic felt spot on. Really well done

Great concept. Very cool implementation. I agree that you should make some checkpoints in your game. The level design is quite clever. Had a lot of fun playing it.

One has to wonder though, why Timmy don't just walk to Jimmy's house?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your comment, maybe it's not clear but the idea is that Timmy is grounded so is using the other dimension to sneak out to Jimmy's house.

Ah. Forgot about that part.

Very cool idea and I also like the implementation. But please build checkpoints into your game ... or a death counter XD

Thanks for your comment. Good idea, would make the game less frustrating.

Hands down one of the best implementation of the theme, feels puzzle like and makes you pause to see where to next, what is going on? The only annoyance we had is that the dimensional window has a weird perspective so we missed a few jumps.

This could be worked into a Portal like game, has a weird unique mechanic that hasn't been explored before and mostly focuses on player traversing the level using said mechanic. Very interesting idea

Thanks so much for playing, this comment has made my day :). Yeah, I agree about the dimensional window, it was hard to implement properly at the start and I wanted to come back to it too improve it but didn't get time. Some more time spent working on it in the future should improve this part of the game :).

Glad I lifted your spirits ^_^

I can imagine that the mechanics aren't as easy to implement but you can do it! Think about making a minimalistic lab environment (like Portal) to test out the mechanics, or even to be the levels. Have fun and good luck!

From the Game Page Description -

"Hop Between Worlds" is an exciting and imaginative game that follows the story of Timmy, a bored and grounded child stuck at home. In his quest for excitement, Timmy stumbles upon a mysterious app on his phone that opens up a portal to another dimension. Little does he know that this dimension leads him straight to Jimmy's house!

Embark on a thrilling journey as Timmy navigates through this newly discovered dimension. Your mission is to traverse the world using the red platforms strategically placed within the second dimension. Leap, jump, and overcome obstacles to reach Jimmy's house, which is cleverly marked by a blue marker on Timmy's phone.
