Thanks for the feedback, as somebody who has beaten and speedruns celeste themselves, I thought that atleast 90% of people who play platformers use a controller, but tbh I have nothing to back up this thought. The thing is a few jams ago I got a few comments that told me the keyboard controls were pretty bad, so since then I've always written in the description or at the start of the game that you should use a controller. I definitely understand your criticism, but I feel like most people who play these games are more used to playing platformers with controller but again, I might be wrong about that.

Yea I noticed that too and spent so long trying to fix it but because it doesn't really break anything I gave up

There is a link in the description to a playthrough, so if you don't understand what you need to do to get up to that vent, maybe the video will help.

Ty so much for the positive feedback! Each time I make a game for this game jam I already now beforehand that I'll probably make it too difficult. Playing really punishing games in the last few years has drastically my view on how difficult a game should be, so I always end up making my game way too hard (and I also just like punishing games). But hey, you still had fun so I guess my game did its job! :D

Whenever I used them for the first time, the game lagged a little bit because of the particles that are emitted. Maybe your PC or Laptop is too weak to process all of them at once, resulting in the browser crashing. Thanks for the nice feedback tho! :D

You need to super jump to the right, land on the slime and jump into the door to open it.

I should have definitely made it clearer on what exactly you need to do in that room.

Weird when I was bug testing I never came across that one, but I guess there's nothing I can do now :(

What exactly was the problem? Did the input just not do anything? Were you on the wall while charging up the jump?

Maybe it has something to do with Linux, but I really have no clue.

Thanks for the feedback! I don't get the controller problem though, I also use an Xbox controller and I press X (the left button) to roll.

Maybe you‘re approaching the jump wrong. There is a video link in the description , maybe it will help.

Wow that's actually crazy I've met two other guys named Elijah in my life but none of them were the same age as me or had the same hobby.

And I also wish you good luck on your gamedev journey, from Elijah to Elijah.

I'm a huge fan of hard 2D Platformer like Celeste and I sadly realised to late that the game is just too hard. I personally don't have a problem with the difficulty, but not everyone (or basically no one) enjoys this sort of difficulty. My mistake really annoys me because it would have been so easy to fix, but I guess now it's too late.

Wow thanks for your feedback, I'm still learning pixel art but regarding your comment I seem to do a great job. I sadly noticed to late that the difficulty curve is a bit too steep, but I'm happy that you still had fun with the game!

Yea sadly I didn't have time to make a full tutorial so I just made a few pictures and a bit of text explaining the mechanics but that's a lot harder to understand than an actual fully fleshed out tutorial. Thanks for playing tho! :)

Lowered my time even more

Wow that's a really good idea, thanks for the help!

The problem with having platforms is that the player could just stay under them to avoid getting hit by the cucumbers.

Or is there a way to make them disabled for other bodies so they can go through?

Yea I noticed that too but I thought just having flat ground would be really boring so I just left it in.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! :)

Good idea, I might change that after the jam is over.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Really fun but a bit easy, I already do over 1000 damage while the dogs are still at 420.

Still a really well made game.

Really well made, the snappy movement reminds me a lot of Celeste

In this game you play in a nightmare of a cat where the sky turned dark and it started raining cucumbers! Luckily, by destroying them, you can unlock more weapons and upgrades to protect yourself and fight back!

Controls:

<- and -> to move

SPACE to jump

W to attack (with your swordfish)

UP to use your second attack (unlocked once you reach 100 points)

This game was made in eight days for the Godot Wild Jam #63.

And if you want you can also comment your highscore!
