Great game! The platforming feels really nice which is not always easy to get right, I had a great time. My one piece of feedback would be that at least on my machine, it was bit dark and hard to see the platforms sometimes.
nice level design, a well challenge game
This is one of those hard problems of game design. How do you make a difficult game "fun" for a general audience? Maybe you don't. Making it easier wouldn't make it a better game. Difficult games sell well, so you're in good company.
Seems like a solid platformer.
We kind of went on the same direction about the interpretation of jam's theme, electricity. This is a solid plarformer with various mechanics (charged jump, dashing), I also like the verticality of the levels. Controls are a bit too "slippery" for my taste, but I think it represents the fact that the spark of electricity is floating. Fun and solid platformer, nicely done.
In this game, climb a tower and collect powerups along the way.
My run met its end when I couldn't do frame perfect jumps with the following sequence: super jump, dash, hit timer, dash, jump from platform, dash, jump to lip, dash to fade block, (super) jump to next level.
I had a bit of an issue at the start where the game would have framerate issues, but as things cached in, things got smoother.
You've done well in its creation. Should it be easier? Corporate would obviously say no, but I'm not entirely sure I'd ever see the solution if I stuck with it.
I'm a huge fan of hard 2D Platformer like Celeste and I sadly realised to late that the game is just too hard. I personally don't have a problem with the difficulty, but not everyone (or basically no one) enjoys this sort of difficulty. My mistake really annoys me because it would have been so easy to fix, but I guess now it's too late.
In the last jam, I played a game that featured a spiked thumbnail hole, and I wasn't really willing to go through and try to do that. I don't remember if you were its creator, but it seems very much like your thing.
It wasn't me but that definetely seems like my thing :)
Do you happen to watch GrayStillPlays? He's a youtuber who's gone through a lot of that stuff, I think you'll like him.
Just watched a video of him, really good content. Thanks for the suggestion!
Great concept and a really cute character and good audio. Everything was a bit too dark for me, so it was hard to tell what's where, and the timers show incorrect time. Solid entry! Well done :D
I will however file an official complaint to corporate 😉 because I was definitely struggling when reaching the timer thingy on the wall to the right in which you can fall through the cubes... Might give this another try later :D
Cute game, but I found it very hard to see the platforms. The charged jump takes a bit too much time too charge. The music and visuals are nice. I got stuck a bit after getting the dash, there's a timer that says "3 seconds", but the platforms disappear after only 2 seconds. Not even sure if that section is completable, but if it is, it's a extremely tight timing.
I loved it!The controls are very fluid and well done and the same can be said of the graphic style and the sound section. The concept is executed well and is innovative. I got stuck at one point but i would definetely reccomend!
Amazing use of the environment and animation to tell a story! Art and sound design are phenomenal as well. I must admit I got stuck for a couple of minutes on the very first timed platform though, the platform disappeared when the timer reached 2 seconds. And I can't seem to reach the platform during the charge jump section but it could just be me.
Great Job on making this game the art and ui is amazing. I struggle with the charge jump and not sure how to move left or right while doing it so struggled with that but the game looked amazing!
Wow thanks for your feedback, I'm still learning pixel art but regarding your comment I seem to do a great job. I sadly noticed to late that the difficulty curve is a bit too steep, but I'm happy that you still had fun with the game!
