depressing. especially not drinking the coffee.
Personally, i like these kind of games.
I just want to mention, that i wasn't really satisfied with still images.
Daz seems to be ok for what it is, but i liked the style of the games i mentioned which low key, artistically.
Yes, Renpy is a good engine and you can make a real good game with it.
I bought Sally Mask which uses Renpy and it looks great.
The lag of knowledge is of course something i regret.
Thanks, i will look up some of the things you mentioned.
I got interested in coding and doing a game perhaps.
My knowledge is rather tiny and i am older now and kind of wonder if it is too late perhaps.
The kind of game i would have in mind is something like "the cat lady" and shorts like "unsorted horror".
That may be a little too high of a goal for me with rather zero knowledge.
I had once the idea to make a game utilizing DAZ3d but i figure it is rather very costly and time consuming just rendering.
So i probably rather draw things myself.
In any case, any suggestions are welcome.
It is also my aim through this to learn to code and to understand what is possible.
Thanks.
I really wonder, how, as a unaware user do you know which dev is legit and which isn't.
Thanks for posting.
I was watching a recent video from Gameranx and in it, Steam seemed to have the problem that some non commited devs were installing malware via update. So you downloaded a legit game that didn't had malware but with the update you got it. For free.
It makes me wonder how i can be aware of these things as i do enjoy games from unknown people like on itch.
i don't get the rational.
A bakery can deny service on religious ground but a processor or bank can't do that. Based on what?
And banks didn't gave him loans because of his reputation.
Besides, the current is against porn in any way. So i can't imagine that the president would fight for porn if his base is against it and its written in the pamphlet 2025 as well.
Well, the only thing i do analog with music is vinyl.
Though, its sometimes expensive. I tend to buy on gut feelings. Old records are mostly not that great. They weren't even great then, i think.
My biggest mistake was that i sold my collection when CD arrived. Youth error.
Today, i wished i had some records that are hard to get but then again, my music taste changed as well. So it isn't so bad.
If i like something i usually buy it directly from the artist.
I think analog is just very great to explore. And to my original point, everything sounds very sterile. Though its clear and understandable.
But i just love that noise, the something special.
When i was young i recorded with a boombox from TV. Obviously not great quality but hey, i like it. lol
Ok, this is probably not a topic for here but i write it anyway.
I have this desire for analog.
Now with smartphones, you can do anything where you would have needed several devices before.
But i feel, that with stereo and almost perfect anything, something got lost.
So i remember the days when tapes were a thing.
My personal quest is for voice recording with tape.
There was a podcast somewhere where there was an episode of someone collecting tapes and discover lost recordings from unknown people.
I found that very interesting. And all recordings have a lot of imperfection. Lots of noise but very authentic.
So i am on a hunt for a portable recording like a walkman. Even though its technically obsolete but i feel that this is still a medium thats worth having.
Do anybody else has these obsessions as well? Share it. I love to read about it.
I don't rate too often but i do sometimes.
I just write what i think is important, though i am not a real reviewer in any way. I just like to share my experience with the game and if the game left some impression with me.
Not sure if that always helpful but maybe it is.
I think the more you write, the better you may get. Always try to be fair.
Hello there,
i like this topic.
Anyway, i find todays internet actually boring. Just alone by its UI.
When i started with the internet, it was fun. Things to explore and websites had icons you could click to get randomly forwarded to a different side.
This was pre Google.
Nowadays, you don't know if you are talking to an AI or if the creator just let the AI do the job.
So, i am a huge fan of obscure things on the internet.
The other day, i thought, why not get into the newsnet again. My program that i used doesn't seem to exist anymore. I bought a license for Agent Forte years ago as i really like the software. Not opensource but basic UI, fast and reliable. So it kind of a disappointment really.
Your links were really great. I assume everyone is younger than me but the important thing is, to keep the lights on for these gems on the internet.
I haven't build a web page in ages, though when Netscape was around, i actually learned how things work. Not really advanced in any way but to have some understanding how it should be done. Neocities is great as you don't have to do much work really and it reflects the internet of old.
I have to maintain my own space there. Haven't done much really. Laziness and no purpose mostly.
The concept is good.
I think subtle horror is really what i would look for in a game.
This game, is a little short but still was well enough to take some time from me.
It would be maybe a good idea to have some environment for the outdoors. Blured or something. Unless that was the intention.
Could be a great game
Thanks for sharing.
I actually have a space at Neocities.
True, i have DuckDuckGo for searches.
The point is, there are options. Like always there are.
Your share looks nice. It looks a little odd on my 27 inch widescreen. lol but i will try it out.
The only thing i can add of wisdom is, that your are a product on the web. To 99% at least. So it is harder to escape this fact and very few people are trying to be invisible to potential cookie hunters.
Again, thanks for sharing
I do agree with what you are writing.
I think i am personally rather disappointed about where the internet has gone. There isn't much magic left, when i started using it in the 90s. Like or not Like, you personal credit is what seems to matter. Plus adds that follow you. I just used Shutup 10 which made Windows a little dumber. I lost convenience but won more peace.
I only have very view channels on Discord. Mostly devs but i hardly look inside.
Personally i tend to go more opensource because that way, there is less spying. There are a lot of good alternatives out there to replace Discord. Revolt - Find Your Community
In reality, you as a dev has to be where the people are.l Your customers.
I doubt, even if i would like it, that people would use IRC. It is a little more complicated than Discord.
Most of the Devs (Indie and big devs) are on Discord.
I didn't hear a lot of problems but yes, they monetize the platform quite well.
It could change in years time but for now, i don't see many alternatives.
I am mostly silent on Discord.
This caught my attention.
A really good game so far. Everything works, but i haven't gone far.
The kind of game i need right now. And don't we all love Ikea? Where you feel, you never leave? Always wandering around. Looking for the exit.
Please keep up the development.
p.s. it seems the game wants to call out. Is there a reason for it?
This is of course not good. Maybe that explains it then.
These days, i fear that i can't keep up with all the new rules and offerings. (aka Last Steam License).
So, yes. its great that itch actually lets you sell your creation on their website. It probably hasn't the reach as the giant Steam.
I for one, only heart about itch by accident. It was unknown to me before.
The last game i bought on here was Fear and Hunger.
I think i should be more grateful that devs offer their full version on itch.
For years, i ignored the platform and thought, weird. But the more i browse, try out games, i find it a quest of sorts with some very unique games that wouldn't be anywhere else.
I know very little about why this or that platform is better.
As far as i am concerned, i would be willing to pay the dev here and download it.
It struck me just as odd to see Steam (wish list) on here. My perspective is purely that of a consumer rather than a developer.
