Ok, this is probably not a topic for here but i write it anyway.

I have this desire for analog.
Now with smartphones, you can do anything where you would have needed several devices before.
But i feel, that with stereo and almost perfect anything, something got lost.
So i remember the days when tapes were a thing.

My personal quest is for voice recording with tape.

There was a podcast somewhere where there was an episode of someone collecting tapes and discover lost recordings from unknown people.

I found that very interesting. And all recordings have a lot of imperfection. Lots of noise but very authentic.

So i am on a hunt for a portable recording like a walkman. Even though its technically obsolete but i feel that this is still a medium thats worth having.

Do anybody else has these obsessions as well? Share it. I love to read about it.

Well, the only thing i do analog with music is vinyl.

Though, its sometimes expensive. I tend to buy on gut feelings. Old records are mostly not that great. They weren't even great then, i think.
My biggest mistake was that i sold my collection when CD arrived. Youth error.
Today, i wished i had some records that are hard to get but then again, my music taste changed as well. So it isn't so bad.

If i like something i usually buy it directly from the artist.

I think analog is just very great to explore. And to my original point, everything sounds very sterile. Though its clear and understandable.
But i just love that noise, the something special.

When i was young i recorded with a boombox from TV. Obviously not great quality but hey, i like it. lol
