Thank you for the feedback and thanks so much for playing! I really liked watching your gameplay! :) There are a few more mechanics and a little bit of a twist at the end of the story so if you liked the game so far I'd love to see your reaction to the rest! As far as the music goes I bought a license to use Ecrett music's AI to generate and customize tracks and then I sped up or slowed down some of them slightly in audacity so that the player could move to the beat easier. I don't think there is a way to imbed music to itch? I could zip and post the link on another website and leave a link here if you want though.
I just watched the trailer and while the graphics and sounds look great, I was honestly much more interested in playing before I saw the trailer. The opening cutscene is really cool and I loved how it set up the story but after that I watched ten minutes of aimlessly walking around a forest, apparently looking for scene transitions? And all of that just to be killed in the most awkward way possible by an extremely annoying looking enemy type. Then it says at the end that that's the end of the demo! Why would I play the demo then? The game looks cool but the trailer is honestly terrible. Again, great job on the visuals and sound, it really creates a fantastic atmosphere. I'll follow to see how it looks in the future but definitely in spite of the trailer rather than for it.
I really like the mechanic of grabbing enemies to use as guns! Its a great idea in concept and makes for very fun gameplay. I did think the game was much too difficult though. The rate of fire of every enemy is so high that it becomes almost impossible to keep your captures enemies for more than a second or two. Also half the time when I did manage to capture an enemy it would just slam into one I had already captured and I would lose both of them. Honestly the best strategy for getting through the levels is to just never attempt to shoot any enemies and instead focus on dodging and capturing only for the purpose of removing an enemy from the screen. The art and sounds were really good and I loved the concept so good job overall!
Well, there's no rule that says you have to make a single player game. I joined the jam late and had to finish early because I had other things I needed to do so I didn't have time to experiment with coding some sort of AI, something that I have never done before. I recognize a lot of people won't be able to play because they don't have a second person. If you can't play thank you for trying at least and thank you for the feedback! :)
I liked everything about this game a lot except for the brutal difficulty. For the main mechanic of the game the parry is way too hard to do. Other than that the presentation was really great and its quite original. All the levels I got through were fun but only because I'm not the type of person to give up easily. Maybe I was just doing something wrong but I couldn't get the parry timing right even 1 in 20 times. I basically just started parrying with completely random timing and hoping by chance it worked to get through the levels and even with that brute force method I only got to the 5th level maybe? The one where you have to jump off the daggers twice to get over a hump in the middle of the room while also activating a button on the ceiling. It seemed almost impossible.
Why is it called Uncle ball if they are brothers? 0/10.
Just kidding. Its a pretty interesting game. I liked smashing walls a lot. I liked the aesthetic of one brother being 2D and the other being 3D. The levels were short and simple which was nice. The red buttons were sort of confusing to me though. Visually I did not understand it was a button the first time I saw it. Also the png you used for the saw blades had a low opacity white box around the blade so at first I didn't know I could walk through it. It is a jam game of course so its understandable since you had little time. Not bad!!
I loved the aesthetic and main mechanic of this game and the two puzzles I got to do were fun but the game is tragically short. I also really like how you did the tutorial in the first room but I was confused on how to take off the legs at first. I had to look in these comments to figure it out. I like the sticky note idea but I feel like if it was just a display for what body parts you had and you could just use E for unattaching and reattaching the legs it would be much simpler. Good job overall though, its a pretty cool game even if it is really short.
Woah, this game is so good its hard to believe it was made it just two days! This is amazing for the time allotted and I would be impressed with this game even if it wasn't from a jam. The art, animations, sound, and puzzles are all really great. It has the perfect amount of screenshake too and I love how it feels when the level flips. The tone is really cool as well. Really great job!!
This is a really great game! I don't normally like puzzle games too much but the difficulty level was almost perfect for me! The sprite art was great and the song choice was really good. The mechanic of soul binding was really creative and fun. My only issue was that the controls seemed unnecessarily confusing but since its a puzzle game it didn't matter if I pressed the wrong key here or there so it was minimally distracting. Great job!
It sounds like a lot of people are having that issue. I believe the only way to get a stalemate would be if both players decide to push against eachother and not move otherwise. If someone is doing that to you you could potentially lure them into the spikes by swinging them around using the gravity between you instead of directly pushing them into the walls. Of course a lot of people might not think of that! Thanks for the feedback anyway and thanks so much for playing my game! :)
Really interesting idea. The gameplay is not bad but it is severely lacking in juice. I can't even tell when things get hit really. Just some simple particle effects on hit could have completely fixed that problem. I was pretty confused about the birds. I'm pretty sure this is some sort of glitch but for me the browser and windows versions of the game both were completely without audio of any kind. Yet there are credits for who did the audio so maybe thats just me. The game is not unfun, I liked it for the short time I played but it definitely needs more polish. Its really good for a jam of this length though. Good job!
Really great game! The art is amazing and the main gameplay mechanic is really clever. I do think the game is pretty hard but maybe I just suck? It is for sure really short though. Also I think it would have not only fit the theme but been better for the gameplay if you completely lost when either the fish or bird got knocked out. I don't want to split up these guys!
