wow, super beautiful game. Only the sprinting mechanic didn't activate when standing still.
The leaps of faith can be a problem, and the level design is quite repetitive, but the art and music is pretty great. Movement is also quite good but I would've liked the ability to play with arrow keys. Good job!
You're totally right, we usually try to add as many controls as possible like jump with "W" and "Spacebar" but we totally forgot about the arrow keys this time, if we update the game we'll add arrow movement. Thanks!
Very good concept. I really liked it. Played and rated!
Don't forget to rate my game please: https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/476599
Rated - Really neat game! I like the lying game icon, 3d but not 3d haha. This light is awesome in this and the music is pro! Definitely work on this after the jam and polish/tweak some things. Great job! Please try my entry when you can~ good day!
Thanks for your nice words! We're kinda burned out with platformers at the moment but we have another projects on the works, so keep an eye out. And yeah, we'll check your game!
It's really cool how you take the same level and make it more and more difficult over time by adding new enemies. However, the level is a bit long and there is some nasty enemy placement; making it a bit frustrating to retry a bunch of times.
You're absolutely right. Also the camera should probably not be so close, so that you can see where all the enemies and traps are. Overall a lot of things should and will be improved!
Very interesting idea! I have to say the game was lying from the start. I really thought I'd be seeing some 3D graphics haha
That was the idea! We also tried to put very nice 2d graphics so that the player would feel lied but not disappointed.
Well, I can guarantee that I wasn't disappointed! Just kinda confused :P
Also, the first transition (when you first reach the bonfire) was really well made! It really got me thinking I reached the end of the game
