  • Really liked some of the aesthetics, the piano gave a really pleasant vibe. I found the gameplay itself quite frustrating however and the background a tad too sharp/contrasty

What do you like about your game?
My game feels like The Expanse crossed with The Fountain. Two of my favorites!

this is the only true 6DoF game I’ve seen in this jam so far, really neat! it’s a shame that you didn’t have time for interface elements, customizable controls, etc… but you know all that already.

the physics are cool, but the acceleration feels very low. it’s really hard to get close to enemies without overshooting. maybe it’d be more manageable with some more HUD elements, or maybe it’s just a skill issue.

the dynamic camera helps give a feeling of movement, but I think it could be a bit “looser” — I mean it could be more pronounced, lag more behind movements, and stray further from the center of the screen.

I love the player ship model, it’s perfect. reminds me of my own player model for this jam lol.

and I gotta say, that piano improv is truly mesmerizing.

Thank you so much! Yeah I totally agree about the acceleration feeling too low. I was playing with it at different values, but I think it needs something more complicated, like extra UI or engine effects or something. Or I was thinking I could make it less realistic by varying the force based on your current velocity and which way you're trying to accelerate. Definitely an interesting problem! Glad you enjoyed!

This is just so beautiful...

Very cool! reminded me a bit of KSP

Very cool concept, reminded me of my days in X.

I would love to see some interface though, since it is hard to tell where and how fast you are going. And maybe FOV is a bit too big for space.

Developer

Oh yeah definitely. More useful interface stuff was on my todo-list, but ran out of time. Playing with the FOV might be a good idea though, thanks for the suggestion!

It is somewhat hard to control and hit anything, but nice idea and great choice of music. :)

I like the realistic space physics. but this game looks like it needs some more polish. framerate is really low like 5 fps. and it's really hard to control.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! If you're getting a low frame rate on the web player, you should try the desktop versions, they perform much better

Hey !

Control wasn't easy, and I didn't really understand if I was doing some damage to the enemy or not.
The music wasn't really battle worthy too.

HOWEVER, I really liked the music, and I just loved travelling into space with this music in background. Maybe a little Parallax effect would have been better, but overall, the experience was quite something.

Please continue to create some game and I would love to travel through space with your music

I really like the choice of music. It creates such a beautiful atmosphere.

Pretty good game concept :)

Definitely an experience for me. It makes me want to fly off into the distance. The piano fits the atmosphere perfectly.

This is my own problem but I have arrow keys bound to a layer on top of my wasd so it's a little awkward for me to fly around. I'd love to have some kind of mouse control but I understand how that could be awkward for a 6df flight sim control scheme or too annoying to implement and tune for this jam.

I also love how the title card shows up, reminds me of an old movie or something, idk how to describe it but I really like it popping up and lingering for a bit, it speaks to the entire idea of this game.

I think this is a great contribution to the jam.

I really liked the atmosphere but the controls felt very sensitive to me. It was hard to aim at all. Idk if its just the web affecting the movement. You nailed the atmosphere tho! Really felt like I was alone in space

Developer

Thanks! yeah tons of things ended up getting cut, including more customization for controls, and some sort of target sight that showed better where you were aiming. But glad enjoyed!

The scale of the battle and space is incredible, travelling those distances is so touching with the piano track. Great game :)
