Real good game. Nice art style, music, gameplay and mechanics. It was definitely a challenge, but a good and enjoyable one. Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much, I appreciate it.

Amongst the very best of the jam !

Thank you very kind of you to say.

awesome game! The idea, the visuals, the sounds, you nailed it! The style is really interesting - it feels old school, but it feels like a professionally done old school. like, you know, usually when someone who only starts drawing pixel art and they try drawing a castle, it will have weird perspective, bad shading, everything will blend together, and the general impression of it will be like "well, it looks like a castle from mario so its old-school I guess". and what you do here is you leave the old-school feel somehow (probably by not doing hue-shifting and other modern pixel art stuff), but you make it look professional with correct shading and stuff. really interesting style here!

Loved the pixel art and the attack anims, this game is HARD!  or I am just bad :D either way great entry good polish and fun gameplay

Developer

Thanks for your words of encouragement. If you don't mind, what difficulty did you play it on and what did you find most difficulty?

I was on normal hah! Maybe it was the control scheme as I am used to WASD, moving about and trying to avoid the projectiles felt difficult to dodge

Developer(+1)

Thanks, I will look into adding more control options.

Oh this felt really nice. Looks great and has lots of juice in it! It was pretty fun in arcade mode and I can see it getting a great story mode to go with the gameplay in the future. Great job!

Developer

Thank you, I am happy you want to see more.

Awesome job, the visuals are great and the music is a jam! The difficulty is brutal towards the end, I died so many times at the magician which was pretty frustrating, haha. The way you did the prose of the narration at the beginning and when you clear the game really stood out to me, it sold the feeling of being in a mystical fantasy setting.

Its great that you're planning on expanding the game, I'd love to see more!

Developer

I am glad you enjoyed it. Out of curiosity which difficulty setting did you play it on?

Submitted

I played on normal, it was tough! After finally completing it I tried hard and extreme once each, but it seemed like all that changed was that you die faster or in one hit, which was personally too challenging for me.

This is great! I love the pixel art, it's so good! The gameplay is quite fun as well, it's surprisingly immersive! Honestly, I don't really have anything of note to add, it's a really good game, simple as that, well done! :)

Developer

That is awesome to hear, thank you.

wow! not gonna lie at first the map felt kinda underwhelming but then I noticed all the details. Really intuitive yet fresh gameplay/movement. I like it a lot. I will try it again with a controller later.
