  • Ok this was good, webXR version (Chrome with Index) didn't have the hands working, but PCVR did. I had set everything up for standing experiences, I wasn't able to reset the view so had to bend over to grab the flight sick. Was surprised how well the plane was controllable.
  • Very impressive - It has a little of the first-person space invaders vibe!

Cool little flying game! It worked great on Windows with an old Oculus Rift. Congrats on making this for the jam.

I was afraid to try this due to it being a flying game, but turns out my motion sickness doesn't kick in if I'm in a static object relative to me. This was really fun! The controls feel fluid, and chasing/shooting the ball was fun. Was surprised when it actually went down, thought it was just a constantly-dodging target practice! Good work!

Thanks!

I also can get bad motion sickness - I'm glad this one was OK for you. I think the plane obstructing so much of the view helps (or at least it helped me as I worked on it - the first day was just flying an empty platform ;-)), it kind of acts like a natural vignette. I also tried to make sure the controls only let you do "safe" things, so you can't roll the plane or dive too deeply. Anyway, I put a lot of thought in this aspect, so I'm glad that it had some success. :-)

Nice, I like the visuals! Didn't manage to kill the steel ball, though. Can we get armor piercing ammo or something ? ;)

Did I miss something re haptics? I didn't experience any rumble.. so maybe there is an issue on Index and I feel bad for scoring haptics low :)

Developer (1 edit)

Yep, there's haptic feedback when shooting the gun. I'd be curious if there is in fact an issue on the Index or if you just didn't notice it? Perhaps it was too subtle?

Host

Very possibly, I think haptics is one area of VR that hasn't got enough information about how to do it well and there are definitely differences in the platforms that make settings that work well on one, not work well on another.

Great visuals and haptics ! Would be better if i could recenter though ^^

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, when I was doing my final testing on all platforms, I also had issues that would have been helped by having a way to recenter. Something to make sure to include next time!

Great visuals and haptics!

Great job on the haptics! Not many games have that implemented (including me).
